Very nice place! I was pleased. I would like to see the FMJ restriction lifted, but I have yet to shoot at ANY range that allowed FMJ. I have been shooting at a pretty basic place up until now, but Alpine is worth heading to. Plenty of shooting lanes, parking, different areas for different shooters, reasonable fees, plenty of shooting supplies, water on the line and 50 cent Cokes in the pro-shop ! ! They had a Range Official down there named Randall and he was a great guy to visit with. I can't say I have met too many range officials that were nice to be around, but he greeted everyone and was friendly rather than overly hardass like many guys in his position act. Guys in the shop were courteous too. Good place! |
Bullet Trap in plano will allow nothing BUT FMJ. DFWGunRange, TargetMaster and CollinCounty all permit FMJ. I won't go anywhere that prohibits FMJ.... speaks volumes about their attitudes toward us, and toward their maintenance. |
Randall is very nice guy--for an old guy. I went one early weekday and I was the only person there...Asked him if I can shoot prone when zero my rifle at 100? No problem. Believe it or not. I live here for 15 years and shooting at Alpine about less than 10 times. If you guys want to shoot rapid, FA, FMJ,....head to TacPro or whenever Tiger Valley in Waco has open house, open shoot,....You 'll never regret it. |
+10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000... (eleventy billion) I'll be honest and upfront about it: I have a serious grudge against them. I'll never, ever, in my life, say anything even remotely positive about them. Come to think of it, I won't even say anything neutral. I hope the place burns to the ground and goes out of business. |
If I read between the lines of your post, I would say that I suspect you have a less than glowing opinion of Alpine. I have a gift for sensing these things. |
It's like you're using jedi powers or something. |
