The last, literally, time I crossed the border, my vehicle(GMC Jimmy) was searched quite thouroughly by the Federales on my way in. Guess they figured a truck with an NRA decal in the front window was ripe for "confiscation". Except I made sure there was no empty 22 shells, etc. to base a bust on. It would have not surprised me in the least for them to have just planted whatever they wanted. Then parking near a gas station, with a crowd of low lifes lounging in the shade watching us lock and leave the vehicle unattended, make me feel edgy while we shopped and dined. I used to work in Del Rio back in the 80's, and crossed many times to party. And never felt the bad juju I did during that visit. Coming home, again stopped and searched both leaving Mexico, Entering the US, and a FOURTH TIME THAT DAY south of Sonora. I can take a hint... Paladin |
