The Hun Farm was great as usual! Thanks so much to the Hun for having us out there! The cabin was crowded, thanks for the bunk ETH! The firing line was constantly crowded, full auto, AR's, pistols, you name it. TexasEd got a new name....and met "Bubba" I hear he gave Bubba forty bucks for something.... Psyren and Hound han an enjoyable adventure in the mud....nothing like a white car in red mud. I did a bit of mudding in my Sport Trac... We watched "Red Dawn" on a sheet on the side of the cabin on Friday night..... Rakwon shot his first AK and first 1911....he's ruined now.....he'll be shopping soon. Keith_J found out the mystery about drinking Everclear...... Sounds of the Hun Farm "Would you PLEASE turn off the FUCKING country music!!!" attributed to .....Me "That's my chair" pretty much everyone.... "Hey Faggot!" most everyone....the surprise is that TRG always said "What?" "Did y'all eat ALL of the rattlesnake? " ......me again... "Did y'all know that the founder of the boy scouts was a Mason?" ....Eric the Hun "What the hell was that?" ETH after one of Texas Ed's big explosions.... "Whose down at the river?" "Wanna go bump at the river?" |

Now I will be off Everclear for another 15 years... Saturday night, the chemical burns from the 190 proof turned into Strep throat. I managed to drive back to SA through some vicious T-storms, got 4 hours of sleep and then saw the Doc in a Box. On antibiotics now but still feeling like crap. The T-storms were a mixed blessing as the 'burban is now SPOTLESS, at least on the outside. When leaving the Farm, I got mixed up and wasn't following my GPS. Yes, got stuck real good. I forgot who but they were from Wichita Falls was also leaving and had a shovel. THANKS! 5 minutes of shoveling got me unstuck but the 'burban was redecorated in the classic Hun Farm dirt spray pattern. Many thanks to ETH and the rest of the Crew. I had an excellent time even considering the troubles. I will recover and as Gen. Doug Mac said 'I shall return". |

What a long, strange trip it's been! It was a blast at the farm, as usual. (pun intended). I want to thank ETH for being the consummate host and making everyone feel welcome. Thanks ETH! Thanks to Renegade_X for the shot at the Tannerite at the river. That was fun! First time That I've actually shot it myself. Very satisfying. Thanks to FALARAK for the help in rounding up a cleaning rod to get that stuck brass out of my chamber. Thanks to all that let my son, Charlie and his friend Cody shoot all the various guns. They really enjoyed it and talked about it all the way home. They'll remember this trip for the rest of their days. Also, like Fullclip said in another thread, Thanks to all for keeping the boys safe and watching out for them. Some Highpoints for me... Oubeta's flyover on Friday. Tannerite and all! Shooting Tannerite at the river, and then hearing an 'answer' boom of tannerite from the wheat field. That went on for several booms! Cool! Watching my son shoot an M1 Garand. That ain't no 5.56! Shooting with my brother, who hasn't shoot a rifle in 25 years. He used to be on his high school rifle team. He's still got it. Seeing all the people that I've seen in the past and meeting lots of new people too. Watching the propane shots Saturday night, and then the fire truck running code 3 through the wheat field. That's entertainment folks! Finding out that the two AR magazines that I left down on the line were seized and held by the FBI. I got them back and my dog is ok. Thanks hrt4me! Helping Keith_J get the Burb out of the mud. Get some boots Keith. Thanks again ETH and everyone else. TC A few photos (56K warning!) |
Doh! And EODtech in the chair to your left! I guess I should slow down on the drinking... I'm gonna have this one and after that I'm gonna taper off. |

MADE IT TO THE HUN FARM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But there wasn't anyone there. Around 2 PM Sunday afternoon. Hut was closed with a bent fence post against the door. Fire pit was still smoldering. I saw the remains of the snake under a tree to the left rear of the cabin, two boxes of bowling pins and a lot of spent casings. Didn't get turned around too badly except for trying to guess Gate #1 Gate #2, or Gate #3. Got airborne in the Blazer coming down CR 436 (I can see driving the wife's sport car would have been a mistake). In the first pic I can see the back of a large green box, presumably the rear of a military ambulance; possibly the CUCV I passed heading north just past the town of Eldarado, OK (I was in the tan M1009). I have been in the process of moving so we weren't able to come out any earlier. When is the next one? |
Missed it by that much! I've lost some eggs and bottled beer on that bump. I know what one you mean. We call it Egg Breaker Hill. lol! That was prob. Booger Hooker you saw. He came down from Iowa. July 4th maybe for the next one. TC |

Dude, The Hun Farm, for most of Texas...is not a "day trip". It's 8 hours from Houston, 4 or so from the DFW area....etc. if you live in North TX, or Oklahoma, running up for the day on Sunday is plausible....the rest of us...we'll, it doesn't make sense. Hopefully, you'll make the next one. Cheers Coz(Sunburned so badly on my forehead my bride is mad at me)_45 |

Had a great time guys! Thanks to everyone, particularly those who shared there toys. It was MUCH easier for me making it home without all of that gloppy mud that was everywhere on Thursday. I spent almost two hours cleaning all of that red clay out from the wheel wells of my SUV. There's a 100yd streak of red muddy water running down my driveway and down the street! Thank God for power washers! It was nice being able to match a few more faces to screen names. Take it easy guys, and we'll see you next time hopefully! Ed |

AWESOME !!! Thanks Eric for the great time. It was nice to meet everyone and share the fun only found at the Hun Farm. I will post some pics also when I get them off the camera. The cattle were out around 1030 when I was leaving, some large bulls were take it easy in the fields. The fresh air is great change from the city air. I will certainly be up there next time. |

Only there from Fri to Sat morning but I made the most of it! Telling everyone about the Tannerite (sp?) fun I had. Many thanks to those that brought it and let me blow some up! I took a camera but damnit if I didn't get too damn drunk to remember to use it. Of course, it only results in evidence Just so you all know, I'm the 5.7 guy there, for those that noticed. And then the guy that was asked if he was "lost" at about 2am. Thanks for the concern!!! My special memory is.... getting a bit annoyed at my friend Riz for crashing before 11pm on Fri. Then decide it would be fun to drive around in the Tahoe looking for something to shoot so I could give him a "present". Found a rabbit "in my way", went to pick it up and decided blood in the tahoe, bad. Then decided shooting at that time "bad", and found a nice quite spot to stop and "sleep". 6:30am Rizz wakes me up, and glad I didn't drive my drunk ass into the river. Another is that great feeling when you get a nice compliment on your gun from another fellow shooter. Hauled ass home and prevented WWIII with my wife who just KNEW I'd be getting home late Sat even though I promised not to. I guess I'll go clean those guns then sleep. |
I remember seeing you shootin the fiveseven down at the river...thanks for bringing it along, it was cool to see one |
They were playing practical jokes with headless deadly snakes. The rattler in the beer cooler scared the shit out of me, and then later with a decapitated coral snake that was still moving. |
Thank God for the awesome thunderstorms between Abilene and Junction on Saturday night/Sunday morning. I didn't have to do any cleaning even after getting stuck on Saturday night. |
now where the heck are you posting from? txl |
Comfort Inn, North Little Rock.... stayed there last night, will be in Memphis tonight, at Best Western downtown.. they got internet access too.... I brought my laptop computer. Only have a couple photos downloaded, though. Camera's out in the car. Maybe do more tonight. |
TRG is a sorry ass mofo aint he? i say that in confidence, because i KNOW he was behind the snake in the cooler gag...just SOUNDS like him, LOL.
|
Yup. They got me with the snake in the cooler. ![]() Funny thing is, I had finished digging in there for a beer and was about to close it up when I noticed the rattlesnake and recoiled. "coiled". Get it? Ha ha. I crack myself up. Sheesh. Later that night I picked up a moving coral snake. It turns out later that the snake was missing its head, but honestly, I had *no* idea when I picked it up. That definitely falls under the "Hold my beer and watch this" category.

Junker46, yes that was me in the M1010 CUCV happily moving along about 53 MPH all the way back up to Iowa. I remember seeing you (and a passenger I believe?) in the tan M1009 CUCV and managed a wave back to you just before we passed by each other. I wished I had the top end and MPG of a M1009 but I enjoy all the space I have and actually got 15.25 MPG for the 1,610 mile roundtrip! |

And my Kurtsgewher just came in.
