I have to admit, when I signed up for the contact list I was really hoping to meet some people in my area. I guess this site isn't quite as popular as I led myself to believe.

Where do you live?

Just being on the list does not garner a phone call or email.

Participate in the conversation, note where in TX you are and ask if there are shoots, dinners, happy hours etc.

Someone will respond.

The Houston Crew has a meet every Tuesday night in Houston. Rarely, if ever, is a Tuesday missed.

I live in Rowlett.
I noticed there is one guy in Wylie, but the rest are pretty much scattered around the DFW area.

There are quite a few folks in the DFW crew.  Keep visiting the hometown forum for their next gathering.  You can ALWAYS hook up with a board member at the Market Hall gun show, and don't forget the LARGE gathering at the Hun Farm May 6-7-8.  If you can't find ARFCOMMER's in DFW, then you ain't look'n very hard.

The DFW crew certainly isn't  quiet group.    Partcipate in the hometown forum and  Go to a couple of events.    They have even let me stay around a long time....I'm the quiet one.

The contact list is not used AFAIK.

But it is easy to meet people, right here on this forum is where it happens.

Hun Farm next week.

Sub gun match last week.

Market Hall last week.

Steel Plate match this Saturday.

3-gun match at TV coming soon.

ARFCOM event at TV last month.

Sure the contact list is used!  Zhukov set up a new list, and it's working just fine.  IM me or him for the link.

well excuuuuuse me!

Can't wait to get to know you guys!!!!
I read about the Hun farm, I won't be able to make that one, although it sounds like a blast.

...anyway, I'll start posting here a lot, and try to get to know you guys. Thanks for the replies!

as for my username...I'm not an "internet tough guy". It's my Americas Army username, and I just use it for every forum to keep things simple for my little pee brain

BTW, I'm 26/white/married father of 2

Think that's something, there is some gay washington guy who we can't get rid of that keeps coming back.

Ain't no reason you aren't shooting with us regular like.

Hey dude - what did you think would happen, when you signed up?  Your phone would just start ringing????

Just come meet us at the next scheduled dinner, lunch, gunshow, shoot, hun farm, etc......

Shit this place fills up my social calendar to such a degree, I hardly have time for my real friends.

You have no friends outside of this place. Just admit it.

Not everyone in the DFW crew is on the contact list - only those that have requested access. Even so - there's like 12+ people in the DFW area. Just out of curiosity - what were you expecting?

I guess for some silly reason I thought there would be like 4-5 people in Rowlett alone.

Then I saw 1 guy in wylie, and everyone else scattered around. I thought you would only get to know those within very close proximity.

I'm "special" don't mind me

There probably are many AR15.com members in the Rowlett area, but not everyone likes to get together and socialize..... some keep to themselves, some are just too busy with their own lives.  There is a core group that gets together on a regular basis, and you are absolutely welcome to join us on every opprotunity!  Just keep an eye on the Texas forum, or, if you want to, set up a shoot at a local range, and I am sure people will attend.

I live on the Rockwall side of Rowlett and shoot in Garland.

There is a nice out door range, Garland Outdoor Public Range on Pleasant Vally.

Email me and we can meet up some time there and I can fill you in on this crazy group of
great guys..

You will have a blast at these events. The Hun farm is by far the best get together.

Welcome to the area.
