Good news. u352 has donated 150 rounds of 8mm tracer to be used at the Spring Hun Farm. He even decided to pay the shipping. Looks like we will have something interesting for the 1919 at the night shoot at the event. If you get a chance to drop him an IM telling him thanks, I am sure he would appreciate it. Mighty generous of him, IMHO. Anyone else want to load up some tracers to use? I am sure it will make a good show. TRG |

i would but im not sure my wheeled ice chest could make the journey and my camelbak doesn't hold near enough beer.................... |
Who has a good deal on .223 tracers? |
Just as long as it's not in the middle of some goshforsaken county road where the local residents are standing on their porches shaking their fists at us because some weirdo from the Pacific Northwest can't seem to stop tooting his horn. Yes, I was traumatized. I am still not quite certain how nobody ended up arrested.

Because we rule ass, like there was ever any question of that?! |

Been a while since I reloaded tracers since I have a bunch left over. I will look up the powder when I get home, but IIRC, it was 4895. Also, I've read some reports of WC844 working well. Some older research I read indicated that IMR4475 was the original tracer propellant. I would venture to guess, any hotter burning stick propellant will do better lighting the rounds. Make sure you clean the bullets well around the base. Some people even go so far as to remove the paper covering the chemical compound. If you do this, you can get as high as 80-90% trace...otherwise expect about a 50% trace. YMMV |
