It was cool...and muddy. Advice from an Alumni: Get a range cart, and plan ahead. You are going to be carrying your ammo, guns, supplies, food, gear about 300 yards. Take a collapsible chair, El_Roto almost got knifed for his chair. All we needed was a place to hide the body...we should have rolled him into the mud and let him sink. Sunscreen, hat and sunglasses. Take a sack lunch, lots of extra shooting available while the others go to town for snacks. Grab some bottles of water, fruit juice to take to the range. Take two ARs. It was fun to try the different courses of fire with different sight setups, slings, etc. A spare is a good idea. TRG |
I believe this is a course that teaches you how to use your weapons effectively and hitting your target. Its not about shooting the ground, missing your target its only 3 feet away, or less, unloading your magazines and hitting nothing, except maybe innocent bystanders, etc. |

TRG...I wish I had another weapon to bring...I am working on a deal that gets every AR15.com member to contribute a buck to my new weapon fund. As you can guess its not going very well[>Q] Well does this class at least train you to "rack one" everytime you think a bad guy may be in the area?? |
yup. It is close up shooting. Practice before you go. Nothing more humbling than a 10-12" group at 4 yards. TRG |

Looks like an awesome range and I'm sure it'll be an excellent class. Firearms training is something you don't think you need until you take your first class, then you realize you need a lot more. I've taken the following: HALO, 1-day basic pistol HALO, 1-day carbine HALO, 2-day tactical handgun (Chuck Taylor) HALO, 1-day handgun retention & disarming Front Sight, 4-day defensive handgun I'm already signed up for Chuck Taylor's adv. tactical handgun and carbine class, plus I have more classes to take at Front Sight when I get the time. |
LT???? Don't you always say you don't want to pay for it? |
