[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Local Barrel Reprofiling Availability?

All,

I'm putting my Bushy HBAR on a diet. Step 1 is replacing the A2 stock with an ACE skeletonized, with Step 2 being the reprofiling of the 20" HBAR to a Gov't profile.

I know Kurt is The Man for this thing, but his turn-around time is 4-6 weeks and I was hoping to have this done in time for the Carbine class on March 2.

Is there anyone around these h'yar parts who offers this service with a 2 week turn-around time?

Any work that my rifles need go to John.
He does great work and is an honest guy.

He has my 9mm AR right now doing a lot of work
on it.

Did you talk to John about this, did he quote a price. I want to buy an 16" rra Varmit and turn it into a pencil barrel.

Yes, he has my barrel now. The price for turning it to an "FAL" profile (ask him for specifics, I'm totally ignorant on this stuff) is $40, and another $20 to Teflon coat the barrel. He quoted a turn-around time of 2 weeks.

It's perfect, absolutely perfect. I shot it yesterday at the ProTac carbine class and the weapon was a dream - it pointed wonderfully and had excellent accuracy. I heartily recommend having John and K2 perform this procedure on your HBARs.

I can't say exactly how much weight was lost as I didn't weigh it before hand, but I'm sure it's close to 2 pounds.
