I'm thinking about taking a job in Moorefield WV. I'm not super familiar with the area, so what's around? Anything to do/see in the area? Any good gun stores nearby? Most importantly, where can you shoot? Are there any public ranges? Private clubs? Friendly arfcom farmers?
Also, any leads on rentals? I'm not looking to buy right now, so renting a house or apartment would be best. If it is a house with a backyard I can shoot in...well...that would be beyond amazing. |

Not much there, a chicken plant, and a mill working place I think. No gun stores or ranges I know of. Nothing really there other than a wal-mart, a few car dealerships, sheetz, and a few restaurants, and a Exxon station/liquor store with a big cock outside Can't tell you anything about housing, as I'm no where near there, but do get over that way often with waldo as it's the closest wal mart to his cabin, although no that close

DAB enterprises is in Moorefield he has good prices and cheap transfers. Low overhead because he does it from his home by appointment. Another place over by the Movie theater sells guns but the are a little on the high side. I live about 20 min. from Moorefield. I work in Winchester and travel to Inwood to Valley Vuns 2.
Moorefield doesn't have much to it though. A few restaurants and bars....and Walmart.

It's the "big town" over in that neck of the woods.
I think the hardware store behind the Walmart might sell guns. I won't swear to it though. I know the one in Petersburg does. Doesn't seem to me to have much residential housing though. It's not surrounded by developments. Seems like a place where people come to work and shop during the day, then fan out back into the hollers for the night. It probably wouldn't be too hard to find a 1/2 decent place with property to buy outside of town along 48. You're literally out in the country a mile in any direction from there. Renting might be a problem. |

Pretty much everything he said, there is a sporting goods shop (that refuses to do ANY transfers) that stocks basically hunting rifles, I live in Wardensville, about 25 minutes away, jobs are the chicken plant and thats about all i know of, I work in VA, I do my shooting at a buddies very rural cabin off corridor H, I have a neighbor next door thats a member too (Mudpie) so you have 2 members I know of including me that you could hook up with if you choose. |

Maysville There is a nice rifle range in Maysville, WV about 25 from Moorefield. I go there often and run into ar-15s all the time-----------100 yd range I thought that was a muzzle loader club or something. I drive by there sometimes on my way in and out if I don't come down Patterson Creek rd. |
