Looking for some information;  looking to put a shooting range on a piece of land in Augusta, it will be used for training purposes only with a vast majority of those being pistol (read close range 25yrd), however it would be nice to have a lane out farther.  Do any of you know what the requirements would be?  I’m having a hard time with the Hampshire county website, thanks for the help.

What do you want to know? From my understanding, you cant shoot over or near road ways and have to be atleast 1000yards from a neighbor or dwelling, your own dwelling (house) doesnt fall into that.

Are you looking to go "public" or will it just be private use.

I think the distance is 500 feet of the nearest dwelling but if closer you must have the permission. Of that dwelling' s owner. I could be wrong but I thought this was included when the laws changed in 2009

Where you are shooting from has to be 500 ft away from a dwelling. It says nothing about bullet impact area.

Outdoor ranges are not regulated by the EPA unless you are moving dirt after your range has been open. Apparently the lead from the bullets came from somewhere other than the ground (magical space lead) so it requires special cleanup.
