I am going to be in Derby on a mission trip next week. Got some light construction planned for one of the churches and help them with some of the outreach activities. One question I have is on carrying a gun in your vehicle. I have a Mississippi concealed carry permit and I usually have a firearm in my truck when I travel but no one would know it. Is Kansas about like MS in that if it is in your vehicle it is an extension of you house and you do not need a permit? I figure Kansas is a state that would not have strict laws.
Looking foward to the trip and hope to have some free time to visit the Aviation Museum near the Air Force Base. |

If your permit is valid in Mississippi, it will be recognized here.
Source: KS AG Website According to the KS AG's FAQs, as a permit holder you may store your loaded firearm in your vehicle. There is no STATE law against storage of firearms in vehicles, and if a local jurisdiction has an ordinance against loaded firearms in a vehicle, it does not apply to a permit holder. |
