I have a couple of questions for you

1. The wife and sister in law and daughter are in Maui right now, is the tropical storm that is supposed to hit on Monday is it bad from an Islander stand point
They are staying at the Lahaina resort
I could not go I had to work

The wife is freaking out right now... any advice

No, chances are it will be a bit of wind and rain. State over reacts when anything happens.
It's slowing down, but winds are still..60mph off the Big Island.
Don't worry!

Haha. No, don't worry, your family will be fine. I live in Lahaina and have lived through many tropical storms/hurricanes, and we always make it out just fine.

What's the odds that this new depression 7E follows in Flossie's footsteps?  We are headed to the Big Island on the 10th and if it moves the same speed as Flossie it will get there the 8th or so.

No one knows what path the next ones will take.  Like most I hope it just breaks up into nothing more than a few dark clouds.  Just to play it safe, if the ocean water looks mirky/dirty from all the rain run off, please stay out of the water.
