Hey guys,
I'm headed up to Denmark, SC to do some deer hunting on private land this weekend. I have a few questions. I have spent too much time on the SCDNR website getting very little info, and figured you guys could help... 1) Can I hunt with a suppressor on private land? What are mag restrictions for semi autos? 2) I have a FL hunter's license and safety course. If I arrive on Thursday will I have any issues getting my SC license that day? FL requires a hunting license and a deer permit. Is SC the same? 3) Am I correctly reading that in Game Zone 3 there is no limit on antlered buck? Daily or season-wide? I only want one or two, but it seems odd? Anything else I should know? I saw the weather is going to be quite cold for Florida standards. I went swimming at the beach yesterday around dinner time. Lows in the 50s? Ouch! |

No prohibition of suppressors at all; i couldnt find any mag restrictions; if there are any they would be on WMA lands, not private. You may have an issue with obtaining a license if you havent completed a safety course and you were born after June 30, 1979. Big game permit is the deer license here. Yes, the regs show no limit on antlered deer on private lands in zone 3. The other zones have different limits for days and seasons; i guess no limit is for both days and seasons. SCDNR Regs |

I already have a FL safety course, so I actually went ahead and bought the license and big game permit. My only gripe is that while I could buy a 10 day license, I had to buy an annual permit. What good is that? That's incredibly odd about not having a limit! I hope that means I'll actually get something. |
