| Heading back home for the first time in 5 years with my 6.8. Gonna be hunting some family land in York Co. and may head out Lancaster as well at some point. Would a red dot and magnifier be legal? |

No idea, but if you want to take a hunting virgin with you ... (subtle enough hint?) Have a 6.8, looking to get one of my coworkers to help me out. I'll see if he knows about red dots, as he's been here about 8 years Lol I'll add you to the list of nephews and cousins that are begging to go. Thanks guys, I'm going to FO afterall. |
| It's not (illegal in sc to use battery sights) I pulled up the most current version (2014-2015 season) of the dnr regs and there is no qualification at all of gun/equipment used on private land, it's like the warden told me a few years ago when I had a friend INSISTING that you could not deer hunt with anything smaller than a .24 caliber rifle (no 22-250 no .223 exc) I couldn't find anything on it in the regs so I called the hq in Columbia, spoke with a warden, he wasn't sure so he sent me to the director/chief or whatever he is called. While I had him on the line I asked about FA also, he said "as long as you are legal to posess it, and are on private land, the state doesn't care if you are deer hunting with a FA suppressed .22short and nvg (as long as you are within legal shooting times, 1 hr before to 1 hr after official sunrise/sunset) go for it! |
