The wife and I would like to head next door to Wyoming and spend some time in the Snowy Range next summer. We like to chase trout and use a small popup camper so we don't look for anything fancy. We just looking for some ideas about the area. Thanks, in advance.

Get to the top for sure Lake Marie area is beautiful lots of trails and stuff to look at, Our favorite place to fish in the entire area is just a mile to the east its called mirror lake and its packed full of brookies Use a little spinner and worm and enjoy. Youll run into lots of people thurs afternoon until sun afternoon but after monday the critters come back out in full force for a few evenings, so make sure to just pick a weekday evening and cruise back and forth over the top and down to ryan park or a little past keeping an eye in all the meadow until darks. I guarantee youll see plenty of moose and elk or your money back. Don't be totally bummed by all of the dead trees the pine beetle done killed em all of but last summer was crazy pretty walking around in the trees because it was like the sun had not been in there for generations and the flowers that never bloom because of the pine canopy were absolutely amazing. I moved from the other side of the state and only found the Range maybe 10yrs ago so im still learning it myself but its beautiful all over. My suggestion would be to spend a few days on top then head over to the south a bit and spend a couple in the Rob Roy area tons of disbursed camping everywhere but as usually the good big spots fill up early in the weekend (thurs afternoon)... Enjoy it and if you need anything specific just pm me
