I was in at the liquor store, I believe it's Montana Liquor, off 1st and 11th North downtown. They had a surprising selection of Made in Montana fire Juice. From Vigilante Vodka out of Helena, to Gin and bourbons from I believe Billings and Missoula. I bought a bottle of Vigilante (It's gotta be my brand) and some Whyte Lady Dry Gin. I'm enjoying a Gin and Tonic at the moment. Not bad. While I'm not big on Bourbon, Gin or Vodka- I am interested in anything Montana! So I guess I'll just drink a few for the team! It's good for the economy don't you know?Sly Edited to reflect subject a bit better. |

montgomery distillery in downtown missoula does some rather tasty gin and vodka. only another 2.5 years til their whiskey is ready, not that im counting down, not at all... I'll drink another and ponder your conundrum... I should have said they had a "dizzying" array of Montana made products. There were about a dozen to a dozen and half different offerings. I didn't know it at the time, but it is a dizzying array!
Sly ETA: The gin is from Montgomery that I'm enjoying at the moment. |

Howdy Gents, I wanted to commend I-M-A-WMD for starting this thread. I just returned from Montana and while there picked up a fifth of Rough Stock's Spring Wheat Whiskey...very tasty stuff! I am a fan of whiskeys and lean towards bourbons...have any of you tried the other whiskeys mentioned? I have some of my family going up to Montana in August and would like a recommendation to add another bottle (or two) to my "Montana Collection" That "North Fork" from Glacier Distilling looks interesting. Your recommendations are greatly appreciated. Keep The High Ground, G |

Montana Bourbon??? Why was I not alerted to this phenomenon??? The recon shall commence.
ETA: Whistling Andy's I forgot about this place in Bigfork. They don't do a bourbon yet. I just found out they're working on it. |

Butte's distillery has a couple of interesting offerings too RavinLuna, That looks pretty good...but, I have a question. Do they use the Butte water to make their whiskey? I heard from some locals that when in Butte, don't drink the water!

Do they use the Butte water to make their whiskey? they run it through a damn good water treatment system. I heard from some locals that when in Butte, don't drink the water! It's ok by fed standards, but I have a Kinetico system under the sink for drinking water
