It's started, school is out, Memorial Day weekend over, hot and humid, family vacations ahead.
Have a few seminars scheduled. Those will be in air conditioned venues, ahhhh nice. Can't take the heat like I could when younger. Can put together a monthly training tip post if any interest. Better yet if you have a question, post it. We have several trainers in the MS Forum. You can get different perspectives on whatever. |

Yes I run classes in summer, just not as many. People are busy witn family, training is on the back burner for most.
As for rifle/pistol drill's. My little niche is personal defense, Tactics, Mindset, Shooting. If you have trained over and over with a drill and have it down 100%, what happens if the scenario in real life don't go down the way the drill works? Drill's are fine for muscle memory and getting familiar with your weapon and improving shooting skills. In a real world setting the threat seldom comes straight on. With that in mind try this pistol drill. Facing target, draw and fire 2 center mass 1 to the head, reholster. Now do a right face, your target is at your left side, draw and fire 2 center mass 1 to head. Right face again, target is now behind you, draw and fire 2 center mass 1 to head. One more right face, target is now on your right side, 2 center mass 1 to head. Distance is 7 yards. You will find you feel awkward, what that's telling you is you need better tactics. You are one step away from being comfortable and on target. That's why tactics is number one on the list. The one step. You have the target to your left, pivot on left foot as you draw, one short step with right foot leaving you facing target for the 3 shots. This has done more for you than just getting you in position to make the shot. It has gotten you out of bad persons sights. Most of the time a right handed bad guy that has not practiced will shoot high right with first shot. You are out of harms way with this step and able to defend yourself.
