Who made them?

Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol ?

Hoping its on everyone's list to take at least one in 2016. You won't have to travel, and you won't have to spend a fortune. Trainers are all over the state, in all price ranges. If it's really a budget issue meet with them and talk about it. I'm confident you will be pleased.

You can do this. "The Force" will be with you.

I did. I made it my New Years resolution to shoot less rounds and do more formal training and competition.

I'll be in Columbus next week for patrol rifle instructor. I'll do the civvie equivalent soon after I return. At some point I need to go meet with the DPS guy about getting certified to teach the enhanced carry classes. I'd like to attend the IALEFI conference in Mobile in May, but not sure the finances will allow it. Also have a fellow instructor not too far I'd like to attend a couple classes with. And of course I'd love to shoot more 3-Gun.

A family, hectic on call schedule, and now no overtime continue to hamper my efforts. Hopefully I can cut back to part time at my job in a few years, and focus more on what I love to do.

You do have a plan, that's the first step. Here's hoping it all works out.

Did two classes last year. Pistol and rifle. Hoping to do two more this year and drag a friend or cousin along with me so my "friends with guns" are more capable. Also planning on trying out some competition stuff this spring never did it, but had someone invite me to try out it out.

Sounds like a good year ahead. The training will serve you well when you decide to try the gaming.

Competition is a great way to practice. Sure, it is a game but speed, sight picture/alignment, and trigger control all still apply.

1) Get some basic carbine training;
2) Take a class or two;
3) Practice with a purpose.

1 and 2 are great.. Number 3 will solidify what you learned.
