Anyone have any first person experience with this shop? http://1000yardhunter.com/home |
| Looking for a shop for precision rifle work. Have a near-factory Remington 700 varmint that I'm looking to have someone tear down, blue print and re-barrel. Varmint/predator rig in .22-250, not a competition gun. Based on the info on their site, it's well within their skillset, but I don't know anyone who has handled their work. |

Quoted: one of the owners come thru Memphis and stops in the shop. My talks with him lead me to believe they are knowledgeable and appear to be extremely friendly. I think they cater mostly to the F class crowd. I'm in the Memphis area and someone suggested that they were the best "local" shop for any precision work. |
| They do great work. Their customer service can be lacking as mentioned. I haven't gotten the asshole treatment from them or anything though. They are slow to return phone calls and emails at times. Alton Britt, one of their smiths, has done work for me on a few occasions. You would be hard pressed to find someone who does the quality of work that he turns out. If he is the one working on your gun he is good about texting or calling to keep you updated on the progress of the work. |
