House Bill 582, sponsored by Representative Guy Comtois (R), would repeal the license requirement to carry a concealed pistol or revolver, unless a person is prohibited otherwise.  For those who choose to obtain licenses, HB 582 would also increase the length of time in which a license is valid.

In New Hampshire, existing state law recognizes the right of any citizen who can legally own/possess a firearm to carry it openly, either loaded or unloaded, anywhere in the state not prohibited by law.  Because law-abiding citizens can carry a firearm openly without a permit, they should not become criminals just because they put on a jacket or place their firearm in their purse or briefcase.  Law-abiding citizens do not suddenly turn into violent criminals just because they choose to conceal their firearm.

As previously reported, SB 116 (R-Bradley) was vetoed by the Governor this past summer.  This important legislation would allow all New Hampshire residents, who are not prohibited by law from possessing a firearm, the right to carry concealed without obtaining a concealed firearm license.

Both of my State legislators voted yay already.  I guess the right thing to do would be to contact other reps that didn't.
I would love for the necessary number of legislators to change their vote to a yay to override the veto, but I think there are just too many damn
liberal Democrats in this State.  It's really disheartening.  They must either vote along party lines, or really believe their failed logic on
many issues.  I'm at least glad the bill originally passed, but having a truly typical defective Democrat in the
governor's seat seems to disregard the will of New Hampshire's majority in this instance.  I guess pandering to her party or her ultra liberal
communist constituents, or the visions of a Democrat wet dream police-state take her priority.  I'm proud of Maine and Vermont for having Constitutional carry.
It seems ridiculous that New Hampshire, of all States, can't make this happen.

New Hampshire: Constitutional/ Permitless Carry Legislation Dies on “Veto Day”
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2015

Today, September 16, the New Hampshire Legislature reconvened to debate overriding the legislative vetoes made by Governor Maggie Hassan during the 2015 legislative session.  After a short debate, the Senate decided to sustain the Governor’s veto of Constitutional/Permitless Carry legislation, Senate Bill 116.  With a final vote of 13-10, the Senate effectively killed the bill.

Lawmakers fail to override Hassan's vetoes

CONCORD — New Hampshire will not be joining two of its neighboring states that eliminated the requirement for concealed weapons permits.

The Senate Wednesday failed to override Gov. Maggie Hassan’s veto of Senate Bill 116, not reaching the two-thirds majority needed with a 14-10 vote along party lines.

Long a priority for gun ownership groups, the House and Senate passed the bill this session, but not by enough votes to override the veto.

Concealed carry NH falls behind
EDITORIAL

Democrats claim to be the party of the people, but there is no better way to get a modern Democrat angry than by proposing to take power away from the government and give it to the people. A case in point came Wednesday when Democrats united to block a gun rights bill.
