I am looking to buy a lower parts kit and saw this on the anderson website. In regards to the following, is it legal to buy this in Nj? ******Anderson Manufacturing’s Trigger is M16 so please follow the rules of your state. I hold Anderson Manufacturing harmless for any legal issues that may arise due to my purchasing and utilizing these components.****** ******Anderson Manufacturing’s Hammer and Trigger are Stainless Steel.****** |

If it is this kit I don't see why not but maybe someone else can tell you for sure. Keep in mind that you have to pin the stock to be NJ legal.

The M16 trigger isn't a problem, but purchasing this kit, and possessing it in NJ, along with an AR-15 rifle (or just the upper and lower receivers), would "technically" constitute possession of an assault firearm, as you would be in possession of a "combination of parts from which an assault firearm may be readily assembled if those parts are in the possession or under the control of the same person" (ref. 2C:1w(5)).
Solution: have a friend, who does not own an AR-15 rifle, order and receive the kit. Go to his place, pin the stock, then bring it home, and put your rifle togehter. |
