Is the wood version legal in NJ?

I think the Stainless steel one with the folding stock is not.

Just want to check with you all.

Thanks,

I believe it is on the N.J.A.C. 13:54-1.2 named list as an "assault firearm".

Legal without the folding stock and bayonet lug.

The K version is a FA one, USCG and some police departments used them a century ago, I have one from '82 or 83 and a newer Stainless one. The were cheap in the day, not anymore. I gan get an AR for less. Funny thing is some of my women actually prefered them over an AR. But most important my Dad a WW2 vet got a huge smile from shooting mine. I wish he had been around when I finally got a Tommy gun

Thanks guys for the reply.

I have been in the shooting sport for 20+ years and was never interested in the mini-14.

But, the Ruger bug just bit me.  Ouch!

They function perfectly but are lacking in the accuracy dept.

Their accuracy is not as good as an AR, but it isn't as bad as most people make it out. It got a bad rap because of the A Team

Ruger doesn't even mark them "Mini 14" anymore, they're marked "Ranch Rifle". Due to the lack of a pistol grip even the models with a flash hider are legal.

They always reminded me a M14, other than that they never gave me "wood."

I paid $ 265 for my first one and got a nice rifle case with it, I shot  it a lot and it never let me down. Now I am old and with Mini 14s and ARs I have 6 so I am covered

It was my go to gun after the awb.  Tony from lawmans(RIP) got me one for $200.00.  Nice, well made rifle who's barrel heated up faster than a p7.

Tony was a good guy, my friend was like a daughter to him, he was so good to her.  Yes she is a cop

Right after the awb took effect and I got rid of my meager collection one of the sales staff at lawmans was to order a mini for me.  Months past and no word so I called to find out that the employee was no longer there and had dropped the ball prior to leaving.  Not that it really mattered,  the market was dry.  A very apologetic Tony found me one in the collection of the jersey city police chief.  I had it until 97 or 8 when things started changing around here.
