| After turning 18 in January, I immediately tried to get my Firearms ID card. I spent 30 days just trying to contact the state police in my area to give me the paperwork. Finally on March 7th I was able to get all my paper work submitted after they finally answered the phone and made an appointment for me. I made the fingerprinting appointment as soon as I could the next week. It has now been 117 days today of the time when I dropped off my packet at the state police. I have tried calling and just get the old run around that the process is backed up. It is absurd to think that this is supposed to take only 30 days in the law where I have waited almost 3 times that. I have a perfect record and am even in a PLC program in the marine corps while in college next year. In addition to this, I even attended the NJ state police trooper youth week. I also got a nomination from senator Lautenburg to attend a service academy. |

Contact NJ2AS. They may be able to help. Don't hold your breath though. I had to move to a different town just to get my FPID. My local PD refused to issue it for no reason at all. I moved back again after I got it. I'm sorry you're in this situation.
Oh yeah, a detailed record of you who talk to, when you talked to them, and what was discussed said. It will come in handy later. |
