Today I went to the Mountainside IRS offices as part of a group of individuals who were there to protest the actions of the most feared government agency.
As I was pulling into the parking lot, I noticed what I thought was a local police vehicle parked next to the driveway. As I walked by said vehicle, I noticed the Homeland Security Police sign on the SUV. The plates on it were Federal Gov. plates, G2. WTF!!! Yet more evidence of NJ being a police state. The best sign I saw there said; Hitler had the SS. Obama has the IRS |

Not a surprise...big deal ......or conspiracy. Every government office space is leased or owned by GSA. In terms of the lease or ownership FPS is the automatic provided police agency for the property. them showing up at a protest is SOP.
In many cases, it's exclusive jurisdiction...meaning the state and locals have zero authority when they set foot on such. Those that are not are concurrent and the state and locals give first dibs to the Feds. FPS does the "policing" and most have not got new gear since they went under NPS. |

Not true. every agency has it's own real estate contracts. I happen to know of quite a few offices leased by the govt that are leased by the individual agency or department. FPR is not responsible for the protection of every govt office space. |

Actually it is true!
Office space is all owned by GSA or leased by GSA for the specific (non-DOD and non-USPS GOV) agency who needs it to their specs. GSA then subleases it to the agency. LEO dedicated buildings are handled differently and I won't comment on a open forum on how they are owned/handled/managed. There are about 150 leases in NJ and 9 owned buildings by GSA for GOV's that are not LEO facilities. |

The point being missed is that we now have an official Federal Police being financed by the out of control DHS. Or did I miss the memo announcing the new department. FPS has been around since the late '40s. It was just lumped into DHS more recently... not unlike many other agencies (USCG, Customs, FEMA, etc) Maybe I'm just used to seeing them more often down here in NoVA with all the Fed agencies everywhere... but I don't see what all the hubbub is about. joeyd16779 is correct. Whether owned or leased, FPS is responsible for facility security. They were just there to make sure all those unruly Tea Partiers didn't start throwing bricks at the building, because they have a history of being such a violent and unruly mob... oh wait... no they don't. |
