I had someone (NJ Resident) tell me they wanted to get a shotgun and an air rifle. Can they buy either in PA and bring it into NJ and legally possess it without a NJ FID card?
I know if you get them in another state as a resident and move into NJ don't need one. But how is it if you are already a NJ resident. I'm planning on taking them shooting as soon as I can find some 22 ammo to show em a few gun related things. Secondly can I buy an Air Rifle out of state without a transfer, and possess it in NJ. I do have a FID card. |

As a resident of NJ, you may purchase an air rifle (not considered a firearm in PA, nor in most of the US), but you can't purchase a shotgun in PA without an NJ FID. The reason is, as an FFL, they must make sure the transfer of a firearm complies with the laws in both PA and NJ, and NJ requires you to have an FID.
