| Looking for the hives eyes and ears. I looking to get a lee-enfield in the next week and a half for a gift for my son( hes the wwII buff) my wifes idea, she could of let me know a month- ago. Anybody know somebody or see one in a local shop for sale , please let me know. |
| UPDATE.. I go to rayco armoury this week to look at an enfield that was in the time period that I wanted. The Gun was banged up so I spent another $400 and walked out with an 1942 remington 1903 in awsome shape. My kid is going to shit when hes gets it next saturday. Any body with any tips or input Im all ears. i was told I should only shoot the old military M1 or M2 ball ammo out of it and not the off the shelf 30 06. Is that right? Also was the ladder site used at 200-300 meters or further? thanks |

Maybe the clerk was confused/didn't understand why it's not safe to shoot modern ammo through a Garand and assumed modern ammo was unsafe in all WWI/WWII rifles? |

The were some very early Springfields 1903's with non-heat treated receivers under serial number 8000,000. They were not recommended to shoot modern '06 ammo. Since yours is a Remington1942 are you sure you don't have a 1903A3? Remington and Smith Corona made the 1903A3 for WWII. You can shoot modern ammo through it with no worries if that's the case. |

It's a late production rifle. Made just before the 1903A3 rifles were started. |
