I wonder how the hive feels about this.
I usually see things in black and white, yet on this one issue a I am torn. What say you? |
| IMHO, the Verdict is half right, Ravi violated the privacy of another individual, but the hate crime part is a bit much. As for Tyler, he had other issues besides being embarrassed about his own sexuality, apparently, the "Other Guy" does not have a problem with the encounter. |

Suppose Clemente was with a fat ugly girl instead of with a dude. Would it be a bias crime because the girl was fat & ugly? |

The fact that the suicide note had DIDDLEY to do with Ravi and ONLY mentioned the Mom, and her disappointment at having "Another Gay Son'...and was excluded from being entered in the trial i think had a lot to do with this verdict.. Another like in I am YOUR 2nd gay son? Or another like "I am another gay son..."? Either way politics, not blindfolded justice. |

Yeah as in the mother said "I can't ahve anotehr Gay Son' apparently Clementi's older brother was gay as well. This Ravi kid seems like a shitbird, and the Harassment and Bias charged would have been more than enough...all of the other piled on shit was just that...shit |

Once upon a time, a student practicing sodomy with a 30 year old man in a college dormitory room would've been expelled.
In the Politically Correct sick World we live in today thanks to the Liberal Left it's now "normal". Liberalism like Homosexuality is a mental disorder. Welcome to the NWO!! |

I could buy the defense's argument. Let's face it. Ravi is probably a huge douchebag. But that's all he is. The entire case is meant to appease the LBGT community and media backlash. As for Molly Wei, I think people respect her less than Ravi. She's a spineless snitch. |

I can take a picture of anyone regardless and post it and the courts have upheld that 'invasion of privacy' with the paparazzi. I can take pics of anyone and post them and not suffer any consequences, what you are doing is relavent as it relates to decency laws. |

This trial was a waste of time and money. But then again, that's what NJ does best....waste time and money. Agreed, ruining another life does not bring that boy back... It's clear he violated his privacy but that was it. Recently I received a Jury Duty questionnaire, (not a summons, yet). I was going to try to get out of it but I think I'm going to go ahead and do it so that I could help actually bring some justice to New Jersey. Granted who knows what kind of case it will be. |

Im my opinion it comes down to this..
Change the situation. Two straight girls or two straight guys share a bunk and one of the roommates videos the other having sex and the "victim" kills him or herself would this have been prosecuted? I think not... My issue is that a person that is gay or black or whatever life is not more valuable then someone else s.. The fact that it was setup as a hate crime makes the victims death more important then if he were not gay. Its sad that this young man killed himself but it seems that he might of had some other mental issues. If you are gay and having sex in your dorm room then at that point you would be comfortable with your sexuality. |

IMO if you live in a dorm room then you cannot expect complete privacy since you do not control the space completely. |

Both of you guys are getting too deep :). iv been in many arguments in GD and its not worth figthing or getting personal. Not to mention we are a small group here in NJ LOL On side note. We are americans can no longe expect complete privacy. When we goto the airport some asshole gets to touch our bodies or scan us with high resolution images. Our children are being told what to eat by M obama while in our own homes and schools are telling us how to raise our children. |

Privacy is "relative" in a shared room. It is about trust and respect. If Ravi had issues about his room mate being gay, he could have asked for reassignment. I have nothing against gays, however if I shared a room with one I'd make an agreement, no bringing sex partners (each of us) in the room. Self-abuse is OK, but keep it quite.

From what I heard today, Tyler Clementi's mother may have been as responsible for her own son's death as Ravi. She clearly expressed her discontent and disapproval with her son's lifestyle, and with no suicide note on top of today's PC environment, the jury found this stupid act worth at least ten years in the life of a very stupid teenager.
I have a nineteen year old son whom I have raised with sound values, and yet I can not with any kind of certainty say he would not do something as stupid as what Ravi did. Stupidity is part of being a teenager, at this age the mental synopsis are yet not fully developed, specially in males . We were all that age once, which one of us can say we did not do stupid things. The greatest difference between then and now is how f...ked up our society has become and how politically correct nonsense rules the times. I believe that Ravi will not serve out his sentence but be deported back to his country once this BS dies down. Shield on. |

the problem with this case is that there is a load of misinformation out there.
Ravi never posted a youtube or internet video Ravi's defense was never allowed to submit the personal emails that showed clementi didn't want to disappoint his family with a 2nd gay son (they were distraught at first one) Ravi never tampered with evidence as he never asked people to delete Ravi was not allowed to introduce emails that showed no bias and one in which it looked like he was helping clementi and watching over him No where is there statute that says you can't video your own room regardless roomate there are lots of issues with this case how about the jury saying, 'we wanted to give clementi's family closure? hello, that right there is grounds for appeal. this kid got railroaded by left agenda for the record, I would not have done what he did but at 18, I did some pretty stupid $hit too |
He does his job well.
