Are there any locations in Central Jersey where i can test out or even just look at optics before purchasing??? I'm looking for Trijicon ACOGs in particular.

Thanks!!

If you just want to look at an ACOG I have a 3.5 power that you can look at in South Jersey.

i have a ta01nsn and have never had even a slight regret about the purchase.

are you looking to analyze glass quality, reticles, eye relief, something else?

Trijicon aint cheap so I can understand you wanting to check them out. That said, they are excellent optics.

And worth every penny. I'm running the TA01 on my M4.

You're welcome to hit the range sometime with me and try before you buy. I've got a TA-31F-G on an M16A4 clone.

It's a  fantastic optic IMO. I don't know how I carried a gun w/o before.

I'm in Burlington County.

Thanks for the offers to allow me to test out your optics, but I just don't think i'm going to have the time to do it and i need to order this thing fairly soon, most likely this week.
I've basically narrowed it down to two sights.

TA31F
Weight  14.7 oz
FOV 36.8 ft
Eye Relief  1.5 inches

TA11F
Weight  18.5 oz
FOV 28.9 ft
Eye Relief  2.4 inches

Now, the weight doesn't bother me much, however the eye relief does. Some people say 1.5 is too close and some say it's not an issue at all. Has anyone here actually shot with both and felt the difference?

.5x loss of magnification is insignificant.

Your help is greatly appreciated!!

PS: I'm also going to post this over in the optics section to get some responses. I had one thread going, but it was a broad topic.

my TA01NSN is listed on the trijicon website as an eye relief of 1.5"... when i shoulder my rifle, it's actually about 1.75" and works just fine for me.

for what it's worth.

People that complain about the TA31's 1.5 inches of eye relief simply shoot wrong. There I said it! Nose To Charging Handle is the proper form to shoot AR's, and the TA31 follows that shooting form perfectly.

EDIT: If you're looking to shoot tiny groups the ACOG isn't for you. It's very difficult, even when you put tape of the fiber optic tube. It's meant to be a quick, down 'n dirty scope that allows a user with often minimal training to obtain COM hits in a rapid fashion.

I have a TA31-A, TA31-F and TA11.  I prefer the TA11 over the TA31.  The eye relief of the TA11 is more forgiving at 2.4 inches and the weight difference is negligible.

Lawmen supply in Egg Harbor might have them.  I know Cabela's (which isn't exactly Central NJ) has them as well.

I can tell you Trijicon glass is very clear & bright.  I was pretty amazed.
