Mr Vag gunnut, I am so terribly sorry dear boy. Silly old fool that I am, I managed to get in trouble with my first message. One does so hope you will accept my sincerest apologies for any slight or offence I caused you. Causing "drama" as you put it was not my intention, merely a rhetoric of how I arrived at your fine forum

With deepest regards

Please don't let a bit of a rough start put you off, we're a friendly bunch once you get settled in.

Do you have any airsoft equipment? We're pretty big into airsoft around here at the moment; we're thinking about expanding into Nerf as well if you like living life on the edge.

I'm sorry dear boy, but I don't know what airsoft is, sounds vaguely pornographic??

I do know about nerf though. My youngest great grand children are mad for those silly dart guns. Always ambushing me in the foyer and shooting me. I make an easy slow moving target I suppose, difficult to dodge the darts without tripping over my walking stick.  One is always slightly worried about breaking a hip.

You wrap your wheel chair in cardboard and then you can play the tank.

I don't get it? Why would he want to play a tank if he uses a walking stick? That doesn't really make a lot of sense

Greetings Sahib!
I believe we met on another forum, albiet rather briefly!

I do hope you will enjoy your stay here; and may I say congratulations for taking up the gentlemanly art of target rifle shooting at such a wonderful age.

I may send you a PM regarding another forum on the internet where fine Port is discussed, I have a feeling that your the sort of person (as I am) who enjoys the odd glass of a Taylors 78 or even a Warres 66 (a chap needs deep pockets for that!)

May I enquire what Bisley club you belong to?

Michael my dear boy, how the devil are you? So nice to see you again (metaphorically of course). A good port sounds most welcoming, though I fear ones Doctor wouldn't agree. I must practically rattle when I walk with the number of medications required.

I belong to the OSM club. Have you ever been? I'd be more than happy to show you around one day. The beastie hanging from the ceiling (is it a bison or a buffalo, one can never tell) was donated by a friend of fathers, who shot it whilst on safari. I gained membership thanks to the old boys network. It's a lovely little place. Reminds me of our holiday home it Cornwall that father had to sell because of the smell.

I used to live near Cornwall. I too had to move because of the smell. I think it's a Cornish "thing".

The OSM?
It's been a long time since my last visit which I believe was the Trafalgar Meeting in 2007.
A group of chums and myself decided to dine there rather than the London & Middlesex, my own club the ATSC was between Chefs at the time and the thought of a bought in prawn cocktail starter is not my idea of fine dining!

I recall the GB ladies air pistol team were also dining there that evening; chattering away to such an extent it completely put me off the cheese course.
Whilst the port in your club house was only a late bottled vintage I have to say the club steward did a good job under difficult circumstances by finding a table near the fireplace for our group away from the ladies.

Tell me, do the GB ladies still dine there whilst training for the Commonwealth Games?

Edited to add:
Completely agree with the comments regarding "Kernow" I'm aghast that the Enviromental Health people haven't acted sooner and done something about it, they say that parts of North Devon are similary affected.

Really? I was very young the last time we visited on holiday, though I do remember the housekeeper had terrible flatulence. I'm sure father wouldn't have sold the place because of that though.

Dear boy, when one gets to my age, one ceases to pay attention to young ladies. As for the incessant chattering of women, that is what the off switch on ones hearing aid is for.

Simples.  You use the walking stick as the tank gun

I say chap, that's just bloody rude. Mr VA Cnnut can be excused the discourtesy as he is an American, but as an Englishman you should no better. Poor show.

We all use Airsoft for training, it's great and makes you much better.

This is what I've just bought, it's even called a training weapon....

Training Weapon

Makes you more high speed, low drag, Tier 1, just like all the cool kids here

Well thank you for the information HappyAl, but frankly I didn't understand a word of it. High speed, low drag? What does this refer too? What is Tier 1. As for cool, I think I am rather precluded by nature of age and wrinkles.
