I have a standard looking M4 type rifle, and want something that is a bit easier to charge.

Don't want to mill away the side and put a side charger on it, but was thinking of the golf ball type affair that you used to see on the charging handles.

Anyone still do this as a method of charging the gun?

Is it a mod to the current T handle, or is it a drop in replacement?

Thanks

Kyle

The Advanced Design USA tac latch is a drop in replacement and very handy to use

Dan, got your email, thanks :) that does look the business. Did you find the forward assist was a hinderance or did it not interfer with the fingers of the charging hand?

Any idea on an official importer?

LINKY

Seemed ok to use and very sturdy, no problem with catching the forward assist, unfortunately I have not used one with the pool ball handle to compare it with.

Hi all,

Brownells are still out of stock of this. Any ideas on another supplier?

I's all fun and games until you tear a fingernail off on the forward assist

The mod to the existing t handle is so easy even I have done it.  Dismantle all the latchy springy stuff from the left, the resulting hole on the right is the ready willing and able to take a M6 tap. Tap hole. Screw in M6 bolt with rubber fuel hose around it to prevent thread indentations on fingers.

Voila

Or use M6 studding with golf ball/pool ball/different colour ball for different weather or mood on the end. Be prepared for a bit of bending if using mild steel studding or ally t handle

If the forward assist rips your fingernails one little roll pin and it's no longer a problem

But I like the one Dan has linked too, it looks pukka and seems to function great.

Still looking for a supplier if anyone has any ideas.

Also, perhaps the Badger Ordnance Left Hand Charger might do the same thing?

Recieved a Badger Ordnance Left Hand Tactical Charging Handle in the post today from the US. Seems to be quite good. Am shooting at the weekend so will let you know :)

Er, what resulting hole on the right?
