Am I correct in thinking a mod helps reduce recoil & muzzle flip, if so why doesn't every one shoot with one fitted?

Most people shoot ar's or bolt guns with heavy barrels,

no one wants extra weight on the front, especially for standing practices

I shall be deploying mine on the Blackout in April

Because you can't "go loud" with a mod on.

.223 recoil and muzzle flip is not very much at all, plus the gross motor movements involved in cycling the rifle drag you off aim anyway so other than noise suppression there's no point, especially in a non-precision discipline like CSR, and as Hutch says it will just make your muzzle end heavier and longer.....

Not needed for CSR, plus the heat build up is undesirable.

Weight & cycling I sort of knew the answers, hadn't considered heat build up.

Interesting.

Never mind I thought the thread was about someone something else

Heat buildup isn't a problem for the Ase Utra CQB, yes they can get hot, but they're designed to, just don't go touching it when it does!

For CSR there is no point as working the action pulls you off more than anything else, but for something like McQueens where you're off a bipod, or for a followup shot at a fox, goose or AOLQ it really helps as it does reduce muzzle flip greatly.

And obviously it makes things a lot quieter...
