Stood in the Chinese shivering like a good un'

Had a similar shivering experience driving home... There is now just a wet patch in the hall by my front door where everything I was wearing today got dumped when I stripped off and went to jump in a hot bath... now I have warm bits I didn't even know were cold, and the first load of everything-I-wore-today is in the washing machine
My AR is in pieces with bits on most every radiator in the house and now I'm warm, in hindsight, it was a fun day

Well once we were all soaked through, the fact that it started to snow was probably a good indication of how cold it was |

What a day !
Dont think I've ever been so soaked through ! Struggled with zeros in the morning session as I'd removed my front sight post and totally changed the barrel harmonics. I thought I'd successfully reset the scope turrets....but obviously had a brain fart the night I messed with the scope :-/ Afternoon session was better , but I'd not shot in rain like that on century for years! Of course, just as the last round went down range , the sun came out !! Thanks as always to everyone who makes CSR happen

My sympathies...
was out testing a revised steel target for the upcoming ipsc rifle match (1-2 june) mainly to make sure none of our SIUS equipment would be in the path of splash and other debris. For the first time this year we could walk all the way to the butts without wellies needed. The match director/designer/builder Mark S. W. had to realise .308 would be hard on his target: one bolt broken (head shot off) legs hit two places (one with a 8 mm bullet, nearly tore it apart...) But the Hardox 450 plate was intact. On the walk down there we discussed ipsc shooting in general. I now know Mrs Duffy is built like me... I am not sure that is a compliment...

Well that was an interesting day, my usually reliable waterproofs were totally over powered by the conditions and being stood in soaking wet clothing in howling wind and driving snow was certainly a different experience! If my employers asked me to do that, I would probably get fired for my reply - yet some how I am happy to pay for the privilege to do it on my own time!
Shot OK in the morning, however the afternoon tailed off a bit as the conditions deteriorated. That said, everyone took it in good humour until (in true Bisley fashion) the sun came out less than 5 minutes after the last round had been fired! Everything that was outside of the car is currently drying somewhere in the house and I completely stripped and cleaned my rifle (which is dry again for the first time since about 9am) Thanks to Steve for driving and putting up with being squadded with me (as usual) ,to Mark and the gang for organising it and to everyone else for their company. I got some good footage with the GoPro and will try a put a video together in the next week or so for those that couldn't make it. Looking forward to April already! |

.........wondering why, being so expensive, short Dot's don't work underwater... ![]() It'd probably have worked better underwater instead of being plastered with mud with a small river running down the lenses, I think there were supposed to be 3 targets in the triple, I could see at least 8 Today was the first time I ever wished I shot "Irons" |

Thanks to Mark and all RO's for running the day. Kit everywhere around house - day off work today to tidy up and do washing |
