What a disgrace to himself he is.... One can only hope that his self-esteem is now in order, not. If he has to tell fibs/stories okay, but you have to know when to "stop" I was only bull shitting, and tell the truth. All these people that are running around re-inventing themselves have a mental defect, we have never been as transparent as we are today, Facebook and other social networks make it possible to have a nosey at their friends lists and whose on there and what their history is... I have wound people up in the past while out on the piss, or just for the fun of it, but he went to far. BTW., I was beer drinker in the NAAFI Bar .

Tony FIFY Hey up owd lad, did work as a waiter/bouncer in a German strip club once upon a yesteryear, best experience any bilingual ex-squaddie can get, group of 8 or so business people from the UK come in and in their best suits start getting drunk and enjoying the show, my oppo was serving their table until he noticed that they were getting to pissed to fast. So I show up, and start serving them, when there was a break due to the one dancer finishing her act. One of these blokes asks me why we swapped tables, and am I the hard man of the joint? NAAFI bar head on, naw not a hard man sir, but I give as good as I get and I don't believe it will get that bad that we go toe to toe for it, big smile, his nervous look to the boss man. The next act up was a late 30's tranny, hmmm spoke to soon, as the trannys act finished and the bra came off and his tackle that had been tucked fell into sight the fun started... i'm no expert (never served in any forces), but real ex-soldiers wouldnt wear camo trousers to a remembrance day march would they?
Trying to find this story again to check the picture i put 'fake para' into Google.... it appears there are many more out there. PS i'm certainly no walt as i will openly admit i could never make it into the military for a multitude of failings!

You have made a few very good points, especially about the clothing an old soldier will wear to such (for him) important event.
He would dress in very smart clean civilian clothing, on his blazer he would normally have a regimental blazer badge, regimental tie, and his medals and veterans badge. His Beret will have a poppy leaf behind his cap badge, and will have been freshly shaped and kept as clean and free from any lint etc. His shoes will be polished to a very high standard if not bulled. He has done his time, and only those still serving would wear uniform. He will have had a haircut etc. Almost as if he expected someone to be inspecting him. He is presenting himself to his country/people as an old soldier, someone who has been places and done things for their liberty. Combat kit is a no no, and the other old and bold will let him know about it at the first chance they get. I know to many old soldiers to let them down in such a way as to make them, us all look bad. A word of advice, everyone who has served gets a red book on leaving, it has a lot of information in it, and before any schools etc adopt a hero it would be prudent of them to have had a look at it to verify that their hero is who he claims to be and not some Richard head.
