Have a separate external hard drive with about 800 movies on it that stream to the TV. I'm thinking about getting another one to put on the telly in the bedroom

Quoted: Quoted: Me too, its great. Beware the dreaded HDCP error if you upgrade the firmware though ![]() Haven't had that? What's the problem? On ATV2, if you update to the latest software version you may have issues streaming / playing content from YouTube, Vimeo maybe even purchased iTunes content. Streaming content via AirPlay or across a LAN can also be a problem. There are various fixes, but it's hit & miss and a real pain. It's pretty well documented on Apple support If you've not seen the issue, just don't upgrade, at least for a bit, until Apple sort it. ![]() I believe it's some kind of copy protection gone wrong, thanks to all these buggers that download 100's of movies onto a hard drive for streaming to their TV's

A good tip for music lovers... If you sign up for a Spotify account and download the App you can stream the tracks to your Apple TV using the Airplay feature on iPhone/iPad. It works well - track names & album art just like streaming from iTunes. Very handy for finding new music, great at parties and it's saving me a fortune on iTunes purchases |
