Can't see the point. Just had a look at the list of exhibitors, not many of them are actually from the shooting world, or real shooting world (if you know what I mean) but it does seem to be the place to go to if you're looking for a new vintners or some rare chocolates
I thought it was a shooting range

![]() ... or if you're a random member of the public and want to try some shooting for free on the pretence of actually buying one in the future...

ETA: gonna see about a .22 AR and a .22 1911 Got those already ....and one of them has nice new freshly installed sights fitted You've got a S&W 22 AR?????? You're not serious Tell me this, does it have a fully functioning BHOA just like Airsofts? That would be the ultimate

My 1911 arrived yesterday! Going to take it along to WNSC tomorrow to give it a go.
Have got to fit a new rear sight on it at some point - that should be interesting! Going to speak to one of the ROs who's had one for a while and see what go faster bits he recommends. |

I am sure the LMR is superior in every way - however I just couldn't justify the extra cash at the moment for something that will never be my first choice rimfire... |

Worked in central London yesterday so thought i would stay over and drop by Bisley today. the show was OK to say the least. More women's fashion stands than firearms / dealers stands. great weather though.
One other item to point out, what a run down, spread out and ill managed place Bisley is ! Never met an NRA official before but noticed loads by them wearing sandals with socks to the knees, long shorts, shirts with ties and some bloody stupid hat talking into a radio trying to organise car parking ! |

Text from Hutch at Bisley, says the show is very disappointing I trust Hutch's reviews. Not heard any sparkling reviews of it. Tbh it's just like a game fair, but without alot of the stuff and spread over a wide area. We had about 50 RO's on mellville today and about 30 people came to shoot all day
I'm hoping there's more about tomorrow, Cos there were slim pickings today |

I went with friends and family. We had an OK time, but it was a bit poor on reloading supplies, so I couldn't find what one would imagine were a fairly standard choice of bullets. There was a fair bit of shotgun reloading components, so that's slug loading equipment sorted... hopefully.
Didn't enjoy the traditional shotgun related stuff much, of which there was an awful lot. Desert Tactical, A.I and Low Mill were OK. I reckon I could have done the whole thing in 15 minutes, so, yeah... not brilliant. There didn't even seem to be much in the way of Enfields, which is fairly unusual for Bisley, and rather disappointing. |
| What a waste of time. Unbelievably expensive and badly organised. Saw more rco's and parking attendants than punters! At a guess, I'd say there were 500 people max there this morning. Hopefully this will kill off the nra and the village idiots that run it. Time for a change... |

They have rented out Bisley facilities to the organisers. All those 'NRA staff' are all being paid - by the organisers.... I was on Century all day Friday, we all got paid to zero the rifles (Sako TRG , Desert Tacticals x2 CZ 750, Sauer 202s ) and to help buyers to shoot them. We were shooting firebird reactive targets at about 180 yards and it was quite a larf. Fine by me. If it encourages some people to take up the sport then that has to be good for all of us. |

The NRA staff, not wearing socks with sandals or plus fours, said it wouldn't work over the traditional open day format So, they rented the day out to a third party company, not so stupid............ |

The whole setup needs replacing with commercially minded senior management that know what they're doing. The nra as an organisation only looks after the the tr brigade, that ethos needs binning. It's a case of evolve or die. LOCOG had an official line why they didn't want to use Bisley as the olympics venue - something about cost and time risks (whatever that it), can't help but think it was probably because the place is a shithole that's stuck in the '50's. I feel sorry for all the temporary staff that have been pressganged in to work there because if the event bombs due to greed and fleecing, those guys may not get paid... |

If what the NRA does brings in money to attract new shooter and members, help clear the mess left by financial mismanagement, and helps secure, maintain and enchance the shooting facilities for us civilian shooters then more power to them.
Sounds to me like they have tried something new and experimented a bit with a potential event. I didn;t go because I had commitments up here, and a 500 mile round trip is a big expense to make for what is at present an unknown quanitity. It will be interesting to see how the trade fared after the event, given the current economic climate. Hopefully they came away with some sales, and we have some new shooters attracted to the sport. |

I went to Duxford today, that was a fun day out The reactive targets (about 2" in size) were stuck onto boards in a grid pattern, and mounted in the normal target frames. The butt crew stood clear once they had raised the frames. We were just forward of the 200 yard point on Century...on the tarmac section. Haven't been to Duxford for ages...must give it another visit. |

Nearly all got paid before leaving on Sunday, cheques delivered to the firing points....but they might bounce! I hear you cry. Yeah yeah.... We weren't press ganged, we all volunteered, beacause we saw it as an opportunity to talk to non-shooters about our sport and get them interested. Even if we only recruit a few - thats better than doing nothing. |

There wasn't that much to see for experienced shooters. So you made the right call. Some of the traders were moaning about lack of punters, cost of the pitch, etc etc etc..one notable exception was the guys selling the Desert Tactical who had a steady stream of customers come to try out - by the close of the show they said they had sold quite a few. They were happy, but then they had clearly put in an effort to publicise their attendance and get customers lined up for the show. They had been wise enough to bring their own ammo as well, so that potential customers got the best from their product...in contrast everyone else's guns was being fed on the issued ammo. No one else seemed to be working that hard to sell their rifles..at least we didn't see them on the firing point. |

I must admit to have been in two minds on the day. I encouraged several mates to turn up and have a go at shooting and when I got there found that I was quite disappointed at attendance numbers but at the same time found that I actually had a good day as I met lots of mates there (several that I hadn't seen for a few years) and did a lot of "catching up". High point for me? Well Jane from York Guns was shooting that 20 grand DSG beastie and it was near as dammit silent. Also a very svelte looking lass who was on the shooting point with a team of blokes behind......
