Looks like my glorious footy career is over: Ruptured my achilles last night  .................So sitting here pissed off and in a cast at the moment, back into hospital at 0900hrs to see if they give me frankenstein's boot or let the butcher loose on me  |

Plenty of rest for you now mate. Sorry to hear about it. Give it time to heal and you should be good to go again

Back from the hospital............ Scan revealed a full rupture, but both ends are opposing so no need for an op. Plaster for at least 8 weeks though  Cut down in my prime, just had trials with the Isles of Scilly 4th Sunday league team  The soccer sniper got me dead on according to eye witnesses  |

UPDATE****** Cast is off  , robocop boot fitted. A lot better than the cast and it'll now be adjusted weekly to stretch the tendon. 5 weeks in the boot though and still no weight bearing for 3 weeksIt allows limited movement of the ankle...............my calf muscle has pretty much disappeared  |

**UPDATE** I've joined the realm of the bipeds once again no crutches.Still got the 'robocop' boot for another 10 days and then I'll be unleashed onto the world again (albeit with a bloody good limp) Glad to hear it mate. If they give you any ever ices make sure you do them. I developed tendonitis afterwards and the exercises really helped. You'll probably get a lot of physio anyway to help build up the muscle again anyway. Good to hear you are on the upside though
