Andy. Why won't you be playing....? If you are coming along you should be getting stuck in and having a go Well I don't have a rifle for starters & no safety thingy. Andy. Ah.......Not having a rifle could be a bit of a handicap. |

I am in too So are you shooting the Aug in service class or a wooden rifle on your own...probably I'm doing wood again this year but in the "any iron" class; the pain of being alone in "historic" has put me off big time. I did hear that there were two three people entering No 4's this year, it will be interesting to see if they make it............ |

35 now, its starting to fill especially as a lot of the regulars still havent entered yet Sally asked me what i thought the limit should be and I said that I didn't really expect there to be one, but realistically there probably should.....at least for some of the matches?? Range size should dictate. What says all y'all? |

What is the lowest number of lanes that are going to be allocated on a Gallery Range?
Divide that by 4 and you'll have your answer as there usually isn't time to run more than 4 details. I'd guess that we are looking at 80 max as Stoney Castle only has 20 lanes useable at 500m (I think), but you'll need two Butts on Century. 60 max might be more manageable. |
|
How many were there last year and how manageable was that?
Similarly what was the highest attendance at a CSR league match? John's guestimate of 60 seems about right - gives you 15 lanes and two per target frame. Best make that 60 plus 2 for the guys running each end. Edit to add there may be a few guys shooting Saturday only to warm up for the team events. So you will need to bear this in mind. |
|
80 was the number I was thinking of as well.
I think it is dependant on several things and the main match that concerns me is Fibua. If we were to get 80 people (unlikely I know) and divide it in two like last year, can we realistically get squads of 4 shooters through it in 15-20 mins so as we can manage 40 shooters in a 4hr period? 15 min details would take 2 1/2 hrs and 20 min details would be 3 1/3 hrs. I know the 6 practises of the 100-300 NRA matches will overrun, but I might have a plan there to get everyone through 100, 200 & Fibua, before we all shoot the 300's in the afternoon. I also feel like others do, that the gallery matches be completed in 4 details, not just because of time constraints, but also because 6 details is tediously too long, and we'd all rather finish early. Saturday at Stoney Castle should be a bit more relaxed as we have a whole day and only one match to get through |

One of the biggest delays is score relaying, and if we do have a big point or 2 butts, it may be best to employ a spare set of radios and extra scorers. A lot of this depends on exactly how many people we get on any one given day/match |
|
Quoted:
On Century you could ask for the Score Boards used to indicate the scores in each lane, recored the scores in one go, ask for challenges sort those out and then quickly walk the line and get the signatures, might be quicker. Possibly. I'm not sure who owns those though, might be the Army @ Pirbright I've been just doing a tally up and looking at the entries so far and regulars who haven't entered yet, I can think of at least 55 people who will have committed to the match in the next few days |
|
Quoted:
If you have to set a limit and turn away late entries will they be done on a first come first served basis or will it be done on the number of matches entered? Not that you would want to turn anyone away of course. Tricky, but I suppose priority will go to those who enter the whole shebang and then on a first come, first served basis for remaining matches. We never want to turn anyone away though |

Hi All , After a long time of lurking i thought i would make my first post a question. Sorry for no hello before hand.
Anyway on the 9th april this year i had my first taste of CSR and loved it so now im looking for another fix. The imperial is getting even more tempting seeing as the next league shoot is in October and i want the fix sooner but i can only make Saturday and Sunday. Is it still worth just entering those 2 days or would i be better off saving my ammo for next seasons full league and the full imperial next year? Cheers, Sean. |

I'm traveling 180 miles, and can only shoot the Saturday SHOW OFF!!! 329 miles each way for me....no mugs, er, fare passengers to chip in for fuel & the Jack Russell don't drive... I'll be the one on the end of the line shouting "bang" (actually, I'd best wear a hat, or folk may think I'm Bradders - wot a mistake-a to make-a!!) |

Sunday is the Methuen team match, so unless you're in a team (which is possible), you may just end up spectating. Better to skive off work and shoot the weekday matches

As a leatherworker we are probably one of the FEW professions where we can skive AT work & still be producing the goods - but ya need a sharp knife & a steady hand to do it - that, or a lap-skiver
Will see what the calendar looks like - but I'll be trading down there anyway so may just go down a few days early - IF I can get a pass from the Mrs & get enough stock made in hand to allow time away from the stall |
