and boring post ahead .

It has been almost 5 years since Claire had her brain hemorrhage and stroke , well she has now been discharged from the Walton center  with her last round of MRI scans looking great .

the damage suffered can not and will not repair, ever , but with the help of so many members of the NHS , staff and support agencies she can now walk and even drive fine , speech and reading is still  ongoing but is still getting better every day .

I want to remind you all of some things that many just save the life of a loved one or even a stranger in the street.

info from the NHS and i can tell you first hand that the fire in the brain analogy is true , time matters.

please take the time to read the info on the site , we can never have to much knowledge .

things that have helped us over the years .

To start with we had alphabet flip books from the early leaning center ( a is for apple , b is for ball ) yes that is how bad it was , but with some luck all the parts of Claire's brain that hold and store info are fine only the parts that transfer that info are gone , so we have to make new roads to get the info in and out .

things we use now that i find help are .

text aloud will read text , emails or even web pages , great tool.

propeller has lots of great exercises than help and are fun to do( i got some wrong).

Speech and language therapy has been good and bad , depends who you get , the one we have now is great the last one , not so much .

it as been a long hard 5 years and Claire getting cancer as well did not help but that looks to be sorted now as well .

we get tested in life and how we react and deal with things is what makes us who we are , Claire has proved to

me that she is a fighter and i am so proud of her .

The NHS has been  fantastic , when stuff needs to be done they forget about pay and working conditions and they just crack on and get it sorted , i love them all .

please take the time to read the info in the NHS link , it may save a life

and thanks to you lads for keeping me sane(ish) for the last 4 years

thanks , john.
