What sort of mount do you use for the SUSAT, if I may ask?
I acquired a foreign, surplus one which has had the AK5 mount modified to fit a weaver rail, but it mounts too high for a bullpup.

Picture with mount.

That's the same mount I use, it's a Bae mount sold off by the police from they're hk53's

I took a picatinny riser and milled flat the top to turn it into a stanag rail

It probably would work on an AR as it is I suppose.
I think the only way it would work on a AUG is to have another base made so that the site could mount directly. Pity it didn't fit since they are a fun design.

Couple of years ago, I used to run a SUSAT on a Yanke Hill riser mount, all I did was machined the riser to
match the STANAG type base. It was ok too 300 yds, after that, you couldnt really compete.

What sort of cost do they run to? I'd be quite interested in one, and I suppose it would be affordable if I sold the rifles present optic. Nice job if that was you made it.

Thanks.

i have the acog on my 20" upper, but thats more for everything use rather than comps

i have a susat on my csr rifle as it mimics my work one (size weight and scope)and as i use csr as practice for our Imperial meet,
i may as well train with something thats as close to the rifle im gonna use as possible,
realisticly i'd want one of the cadet L98's that were sold off to canda, but i got no chance of that lol
a susat is good for up to 500 any more than that and it becomes very difficult

I'm also fitting a susat to my new .22 so i can practice the stand kneel at 100, cos thats where i seem to be dropping most of my points in comps :)

Worst straight-pull I've ever used, although they were fairly accurate.
Apparently the surplus ones are being destroyed, so they are about to get even rarer.

the current ones are being/have been refurbed to semi auto only for the cadets,
the old uppers that were removed are being destroyed

thing is if you bought one, it wouldnt take long to customise it to something more ergonmic and more reliable

Yeah, I always wondered how they were building more rifles for the Cadets, as I thought production ceased in around 97' for the SA80?

It would be a real expensive undertaking I expect. Aren't they worth well into the thousands for the rifle alone? A chap I shoot with was offered one for £3500 several years ago.

only expensive to the public and only cos they're rare.
remember, everything the mod buy is at minimum cost...

do you think the mod would spend 3.5k per rifle when an m16 would cost less than $700 each

No, I mean it would run to quite a bit of cost as a customised, private purchase.
I wonder what the L85A1 sporters are running to in the U.S theses days? Those were quite expensive when they were brought in during the 80's. We probably get off quite lightly in comparison to what they pay; I'd think $30K minimum for their self loading versions.

lol, good point,
but only because it didnt work very well, if it did work straight away then they would of overlooked it and gone with something else
