I've put thousands off rounds through my Bar15 22 with probably a handful of stove pipes which hasn't bothered me.
On my last two visits to Bisley I've had a few cases which get stuck up between the charging handle & bolt & I have to use the pliers on my leatherman to remove them. I'm perplexed as why this has suddenly started to happen, I'm using the same ammo I always have. Strange thing is it hasn't happened when I shoot indoors at my other club.
Any ideas or should I invest in a CMMG anti jam charging handle. Andy. |

Have you thought about asking Bradders?
He made the gun and is farm more likely to know it's characteristics. FWIW on the very rare occasions when mine has done it, it was because the gun needed a clean (1000rnds+). Once thoroughly cleaned any issues stopped. .22 is a bloody filthy round and you need to keep that action nice and clean. Even with the exceptional reliability of the BAR22 you will still get a build up of crap that will affect performance. |

Mark is welcome to reply to this thread, it may help people with a similar problem. I usually clean & lube every 500 rounds or so, as I say it's only just started doing it.

For the same reason I do not generally post on BMW internet forums anymore. Reason ? Theres one cupid stunt from a company run by a moron in Suffolk who started life running an office cleaning business. That & his changing a head gasket on a mini qualifies him as a "specialist". FFS, Oh yes, he's special alright ! He gets someone else to break them in bits & he sells the parts on Ebay & any internet forum that cant be bothered to deal with the thug ! He's bloody dangerous. He's busy making flywheels from the wrong kind of material & 75% lighter than the stock part.

That's the problem. Be it guns, cars or anything else for that matter, it's those idiots that give the good guys a bad name. When I first started hearing about the antics of one RFDs, I didn't believe it and thougtht it was just down to business rivalry. After a bit I started to hear things from people who I trust and know to be decent people. Not just RFDs but ordinary shooters. Then I started to see stuff for myself and the mess this company were making of people's rifles and the tatty shit being sold to new shooters. What I find unfair is the number of people who are relatively new to the sport who are attracted by the bullshit and rehetoric of this company. They get sucked in and end up parting with their cash not realising that they are dealing with someone who is incompetent and when things go wrong they end up having to spend more money having it put right by people who do know what they are doing. We all know what it's like when you first get your FAC and you go an buy your first gun and the excitment of that. It's a great feeling and in your eagerness to get your new gun you can be led down the path a little bit, especially ifyou don;t have much knowledge or understandingh of the products you are buying. Couple that with the fact this person has allegedly spread malicious rumours, actively sought to derail other RFD's, undermine their businesses with suppliers and potential customers, and has lied about their shooting prowess and performance of their products to prospective customers and it paints a very unpleasant picture. This business is actively undermining the industry, and praying on the ignorance of new or inexperienced shooters. What the daft sod doesn't realise is that theFAC market in this country is relatively small, and the shooting community is a fairly tight knit bunch. Word spreads and I'm hearing more and more about how badly customers feel about this particular business. It's uncomfortable to watch someone implode through their own incompetence. And no, I'm not going to give any names. |

Thing is the advice to all prospective buyers is try before you buy; see the things being used on the competition circuit buy people who generally know what works and what does not. Go by recommendation built up over time, don't just go by what bollocks you'll find on the interweb. Avoid cheap tactical clone plastic POS, even with airsoft or real accessories, they are still plastic clone POS and you'll tire of them sooner rather than later. |
