Hi all,
I was just on that other forum and t was just brought to my attention that Taurus have discontinued the models or revolver that are used as a host for the UK spec LBR. I wonder if they will be making any more LBR's or will this be an end to UK spec LBR's?

The following models are showing as discontinued

Model: 44SS12 in .44
Model: 66B12 in 38/357
Model: 66SS12 in 38/357
Model: 30CSS12 in .30
Model: 980SS12 in .22
Model: 981SS12 in .22

Anyone know any more info ?

regards

Chris

I had one a few years ago in .357 and sold it a few months later as it wasn't as close to the real thing as I was hoping for, even so, I hope they aren't discontinued, they're the best thing we've got, even though some might be no good. I've been toying with the idea of getting one in .44 as the chunkier size might make the length seem a bit more 'normal'.

Vectra26,
I have a .44 and a .45acp. I had no end of trouble with the .44 before I got a replacment. A few other guys I know who got .44's had similar issues. If you ever go for a large frame Taurus the model 456 .45 ACP is the best option.

I have both .44 and .45 acp. The .44 never drops a heat beat but the .45 is a pain in the A**  , after 30 rounds the dam things needs leaning of the cylinders seize up, those dam moon clips !

Would be a real shame... I may think long and hard about keeping mine ( which is forsale ) a little longer now as the price is likely to rise

Spoke to the importer today (gareth at Eurosport) he advised all is well. Only the US distribution has stopped. They are still going to be made for the UK market

If he looked after the retailers selling them better, then maybe they wouldn,t get such a bad press. We sold into the hundreds, and getting spares was like asking Claudia Schiffer for a shag.
The service to the trade from him, is pathetic. We have stopped selling a product that has no spares backup. Its not fair to the customer.

I know what you mean mate. That .44 mag one I showed you when you did the rod conversion on my .45 acp was a prime example. The whole thing was a nightmare from start to finish. The cylinder was not machined straight. They couldnt replace it as no spares to they re-worked it . After that the force cone gap was terrible and it still locked up. The barrel was on slightly canted and the frame wasnt right. The replacment is much better. However I know if it ever goes wrong I have as much chace of getting spares as winning the lotto.
