I couldn't get back to London after Xmas as a bunch of scumbag hedge-monkeys had made off with the copper wiring (that they had basically chopped through with axes while it was live somehow).

Is it just me or do other people find pikeys have a distinctive smell? I often get them in my office after insurance quotes for various types of policies (normally Motor Trade), and suffice to say we always price them way out or no quote them, but I have always found you can tell a pikey by their smell. A cop mate of mine reckons it's the smell of stale ketchup.

We have both Native Gypsies and Irish Travellers in the UK. The latter are often referred to as Gypsies but actually are nothing to do with them. The former predate the latter considerably and the bloodlines are not mixed.
We are also seeing an influx of Gypsies from Romania. |

My brother's fiance is a school teacher and is forced to teach one of their bastard offspring while they are in the area - he proudly retold the story of how he was sent out by his parents to steal breakfast for the family. The most infamous gypsies/travelers from this area are the Johnsons who were recently sent to prison. They speak with west country accents and were/are some of the most prolific thieves in British history: Link Other gypsies tend to stick to stealing farming equipment, horse tack and scrap metal. Although lately they have been ripping ATMs out of banks with stolen diggers. As a result of their behavior; gypsies and travelers are feared or hated by most of the British public - guardian readers aside |
