You have started me as well. When I was serving my RAF Airframe Fitter Apprenticeship at Halton in 1969 - 1970 there were a lot of TSR2 components in the School as training aids. The resentment and anger towards the Government from the Service instructors because of the cancellation of that aircraft programme was evident even to us as  no more than kids. If I recall correctly It was stopped in favour of the "cheaper option" buying F-111s from the USA which I don't think ever made it into RAF service. Labour Governments have never been popular with the Armed Forces.

From the top:
An Avro Lincoln or York variant, not sure.
Saunders Roe SR53 rocket powered interceptor
Bristol T188 stainless steel research aircraft. The Lockheed Blackbird SR71 has more than a passing resemblance to this.
English Electric P1, the prototype of the Lightning.

Do I get an anorak?

Yes you win the virtual anorak.

Avro Lincoln not York

and the SR53 was jet & rocket powered.
