Need some computer help. Haven't been able to get on ar15.com on my laptop (using works now). Thing is, there are two laptops in the house, one works fine, and mine doesn't. It connects to every other site apart from this one, it says there is no response from the server, but at the same time ar15.com will work on the other laptop. I've tried absolutely everything and anything, and nothing works. It's driving me nuts!
Any ideas? (Apart from taking it to the range and shooting it!) |

Have you compared the internet settings of the laptop that doesn't work with the one that does? Browser version, security settings etc. Are you running different anti-virus systems on the two machines? As it could be your firewall that is blocking it. Can you connect through a proxy server?
If you are using Internet Explorer you could try installing Firefox. HTH |

from the START menu Click run (usually in the bottom right) a dialog box will pop up. type cmd and press Ok. You will get a terminal window. in the terminal window type ping www.arf.com you should see a response something like: Reply from 64.13.232.209: bytes=32 time=100ms TTL=52 Reply from 64.13.232.209: bytes=32 time=100ms TTL=52 Reply from 64.13.232.209: bytes=32 time=100ms TTL=52 if that works it show that the machines have basic connectivity. If you don't see something like the above then you are probably being blocked by a firewall. Since you can browse other sites I'd suggest that there is some settings specifically blocking www.arf.com, as BlackKnight1974 suggests - check your browser security settings. are you using Internet Explorer? |
