.............A scope that I can compete with on my Carbine.

I went for the Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x24.

I chose it for its optics and weight, as the equivilant S&B was also
abit out of reach for me.

It has the Mildot ret and MOA adjustment, my only nigle ATM is that you have to
remove the turret caps to adjust the scope.

I will be using it back to 400 regullaly now as I have just obtained a licence for my
club to use Altcar ranges, so I will be spending alot of Sunday afternoons there.

Its my first Nightforce, they have plenty good reviews, anyone have any opinions ????

I would like a one piece mount for it, again, any ideas ????

I will be zeroing it tommorow

Thanks in advance.

Have been reckoning on going with a 2.5-10x32 with NP-R2. I don't even like the NP-R2 ret that much but at least I can work MOA/MOA.
Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it eye relief and head position wise.

You can't push 'Help for Heros' enough

Excellent field of view, simple to zero, punching shoot'n'see targets within
7 shots.

Very happy, no problem with eye relief and you dont have to worry about focus,
and it got very, very very wet on its first outing

How would you compare the glass against a Leupold VXIII/MK 4?

I would say comparable, if not a little better, I have used a VX Mk4 but I have never
owned one so I am probably biased.

Having said that, My PM11's are not a huge amount clearer IN DAYLIGHT

A whole lot better with a LaRue mount, and also slightley lower giving me
a better head position.

One of the finest charities in existence!

Help for Heroes!

They help rehabilitate wounded servicemen (and women) who have been injured fighting for their country

Charities don't get much better than that!

Top notch.

Just waiting for the Larue SPR-E mount. Which ret have you got?

Mildot, it was the only one I wanted and had to wait a while for York Guns to obtain it for me

I couldn't be happier, clear optics, Excellent illum ret, and I like the MOA adjustments.
The return to zero is 100% accurate, not cheap but what is.

My only niggles are having to remove the turret caps to adjust elv/wdg, and the supplied
rubber scope covers are shite, mine to be replaced with Butler creeks

After getting zeros at 100 yards, I took the Carbine for its first comp yesterday.

I shot the CSR comp at Diggle with it. I came a very respectable 5th overall out of 20.
for which I was more than happy with as I had no zeros and had to rely on the mad min
in the sand and then 2 sighters marked at each distance. The scope was ample for use
back to 500 yards yesterday giving excellent field of view and I shot the 500 stage on 8 power.

I can highly recommend this Nightforce scope for CSR/PR shooters who are looking for
something compact light and in a lower price band but comparable quality band to S & B.

This piccy was taken while zeroing, all prone shooting during all stages was mag
rested only.
