You can have the Norwegian winters Nick, I'll take the desert thanks I think you have an ulterior motive for your choice, and I can't blame you, although I don't like deserts. I like it here in Bavaria, it was -6°C to -9°C this morning and that was not counting any wind chill factor. At least we don't have any snow at the moment at 700m ASL, but there is plenty up in the mountains causing rolling avalanches on the Autobahns. As I have quit hunting or staging on in the wood's, because the deer are on their holidays, and 2 deer in two years is ridiculous at best, for all the hours that I have spent sat in high seats waiting sweating or freezing my arse off. BTW, three or four of my hunting rifles are going on sale in the new year, that G3 clone or an OA10 is on my wish list. Tony |

Tony Tony, Sorry to hear you've given up hunting - but I can understand why - two deer in two years is very slim pickings for all those early mornings and long days. Will you give up your licence or will you keep it going just in case? Weather here very frosty and it was already -3 by 8pm last night on the way home from work. Now dense freezing fog looks like it's here for a while... Have a good last day of 2008 and hope to see you during 2009. Happy New Year - have a great one! cheers Nicck |

I'm with Nick624, Definately prefer the cold weather, provided I'm dressed for it I don't care. Now hot weather really grips my sh*t, you can't get away from it! I am like a farmer - never happy with the weather. When its really hot, I prefer cold weather. When its really cold, I prefer hot weather. If I really had to choose - Cold for me - easier to warm up than cool down. |

Some lovely scenery form Betwys-Y-Coed, North Wales this morning, taken while delivering sheep feed to the hill farmers http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x196/timlad07/Image057.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x196/timlad07/Image058.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x196/timlad07/Image059.jpg Looks nice doesn't it, until you see what I was bouncing of the hedges in
Anyone ever driven a 26 tonne Bobsleigh http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x196/timlad07/Image061.jpg Best fun I've had in ages, roll on off Snowdon tommorow The 2 tonne De-mountable forklift on the back and the fact the wagon is single drive and has a lifting Tag axle, made an excelent combination for grip, Its like everything else, you need the right tackle for the job (sorry about pic quality, i'll take a proper camera tommorow) You be careful.....

The temp dropped to -26°C in some places in Germany last night, but here in Bavaria we are having a heatwave, only -5°C last night and it's warmed up some so that it can snow on us some.
Nice pictures Tim, as to your 26t bob-sleigh, I used to drive a Chieftain MBT (68t with the chobham armour etc) and that was fun in the deep snow, ice didn't worry us much, drop into the tank baton down and hold on tight, anything that you skidded into came second . I do know what you are saying, my rear tyres have a speciality, a couple of metal rings worked into the tyre, that ensure great gripping, as to the MS tyres they are great, as the rubber is especially designed that as of 7°C and below it reacts differently than normal tyres, ensuring great gripping property's. I'm always amazed when car hire company's rent cars out that don't have MS tyres on them in the winter.....The only drawbacks are higher fuel consumption, and lower speed, some of then arn't designed for speeds above 160kmh.
