Hi All,
Just looking for a little input really. My Taurus seems to have developed a fault. When you cock the hammer back it is smooth on 5 rounds on the cylinder. However on the sixth jams and the hammer wont pull back. I have cleaned it and checked for high spots on the cylinder but cant see any. Its relatively new and only had about 600 rounds through it. Has anyone had any similar problems or have any ideas what could be causing it? (It always sticks on the same position on the cylinder. I have tried it loaded and unloaded to check that it wasn't high primes causing it . However the same fault occurs) Regards Chris |
Taurus fouls the same way when using Blue Dot (now on Bullseye, without a hitch)...

I'm pretty new to this I can take my 10/22's apart but haven't every tried the Taurus. Last time I cleaned it I just used Bore scrubber and birchwood casey Lead remover Cloths and oiled it. I didn't actually take the whole gun apart. Is there any special way it comes apart ? The instruction book is pretty generic and doest actually say anything useful. Chris |

When I first took mine apart I took lots of photos at the different stages of stripdown so I could see how it all went together! After a thorough clean and re-assemble (with photographic aids  ) it did shoot like a new gun again......well a new Taurus anyway...

I's quite easy to take the cylinder off - just one screw below the serial number on the right hand side iirc, and make sure you don't loose the cylinder lock bit at the bottom.
I would advise against taking the side plate off, as it's not necessary for cleaning, and there are lots of small bits to lose. |
