Mark, going to the CSR on the 26th and the Altcar shoot on the 1st as I can`t make the Kemble it being Rememberance weekend,it seems a bit short on time to send the CSR entry so count me in and I will pay on Sun.

PRACTICAL RIFLE SHORT RANGE MATCH
(The Methuen & Army Hundred Cup – ARA Match 8)
(MATCH CONDITIONS AND TIMINGS AS FOR THE METHUEN)


Practice 1 (Harassing Fire)

Distance 300 yards.
Position Prone unsupported.
No. of shots Two sighting shots and ten to count.
Target DP 1.
Scoring 5 and 4.
Timing One timed exposure of 60 seconds.

PROCEDURE

1. After the two sighting shots have been fired and signalled, firers will be ordered to apply safety catches, stand up and adopt the standing alert position.
2. On the appearance of the targets for 60 seconds, they will adopt the prone unsupported position and fire ten rounds.
3. Scores will be communicated to the firing point and spotting discs shown for 25 seconds.

Practice 2 (Fire & Movement)

Distance 300 to 100 yards.
Position At 300 prone unsupported.
At 200 sitting, kneeling or squatting. At 100 standing.
No. of shots Ten to count.
Targets DP 12.
Scoring 5 and 4.
Timing One exposure of 15 sec at 300. 15 sec later there will be a 1 sec exposure followed 30 sec later by 2 exposures of 6 sec with a 10 sec interval at 200. 15 sec later there will be a 1 sec exposure followed 30 sec later by 2 exposures of 6 sec with a 10 sec interval at 100.

PROCEDURE

1. At 300 yards, firers are to be in the standing alert position, rifles are to be loaded, made ready and safety catches applied.
2. When the targets appear, firers are to adopt the prone position and fire two rounds.
3. On each subsequent appearance of the targets, they are to advance to the next firing point and fire two rounds at each appearance of the target. Positions for firing will be as above. They may not change their position until they are required to advance to the next firing point.
4. Safety catches must be fully applied during all movement.
5. On the firers return to the 300 yard firing point spotting discs will be shown for 25 seconds.
6. The number and value of hits will be communicated to the firing point.

Practice 3 (Close Quarter Snap)

Distance 100 yards.
Position Standing, then kneeling or squatting.
No. of shots Ten to count.
Target DP 12.
Scoring 5 and 4.
Timing Five double exposures of three seconds up, two seconds down and three seconds up at irregular intervals over a period of two minutes.

PROCEDURE

1. Competitors are to be in the standing alert position with rifles loaded, made ready and safety catches applied.
2. The first shot in each double exposure is to be fired from the standing position and the second from the kneeling or squatting position. Competitors are to return to the standing alert position after each double exposure.
3. Only two shots may be fired at each double exposure.
4. Spotting discs are to be shown and scores communicated from the butt as in Practice 2.

Practice 4 (Rapid)

Distance 200 yards.
Position Sitting, kneeling or squatting.
No. of shots Ten to count.
Targets Two DP1.
Scoring 5 and 4.
Timing 40 seconds.

PROCEDURE

1. Competitors are to be in the standing alert position with rifles loaded, made ready and safety catches applied.
2. On the appearance of the targets the competitors are to adopt the sitting, kneeling or squatting position and open fire. Not more than 5 hits are to count on each target.
3. Spotting discs are to be shown and scores communicated from the butts as in Practice 2.

Practice 5 (Snap)

Distance 300 yards.
Position Prone unsupported.
No. of shots Ten to count.
Target DP 1.
Timing Ten exposures of three seconds with irregular intervals over a period of five minutes.
Scoring 5 and 4.

PROCEDURE

1. On completion of sighting shots rifles will be made ready with ten rounds (Para 366(b)) and the firer will adopt the prone unsupported position.
2. Targets will be exposed randomly over a frontage of six feet.
3. Only one shot may be fired at each exposure.
4. Spotting discs are to be shown and scores communicated from the butt as in Practice 2.


“NORWEGIAN SNAPS & RAPIDS”
(100x and 200x)



Practice 1 (Sitting Snap)

Distance 200 yards.
Position Sitting unsupported.
No. of shots Two sighting shots and ten to count.
Target DP 12.
Scoring 5 and 4.
Timing Ten exposures of three seconds with irregular intervals.

PROCEDURE

1. On completion of sighting shots rifles will be made ready with ten rounds (Para 366(b)) and the firer will adopt the sitting unsupported position.
2. Targets will be exposed randomly over a frontage of six feet.
3. Only one shot may be fired at each exposure.
4. On completion of the practice rifles must be inspected and cleared before leaving the firing point.
5. Spotting discs will then be shown for 25 seconds and the number and value of hits will be communicated to the firing point.


Practice 2 (Prone Rapid)


Distance 200 yards.
Position Prone unsupported.
No. of shots Ten to count.
Targets DP 12.
Scoring 5 and 4.
Timing 40 seconds.

PROCEDURE

1. Firers are to start in the standing alert position, rifles loaded, made ready and safety catches applied, two metres behind the firing point.
2. On the appearance of the targets for 40 seconds firers are to advance to the firing point, adopt the prone position, release safety catches and fire ten rounds.
3. On completion of the practice rifles must be inspected and cleared before leaving the firing point.
4. Spotting discs will then be shown for 25 seconds and the number and value of hits will be communicated to the firing point.


Practice 3 (Prone Double Snap)

Distance 200 yards.
Position Prone unsupported.
No. of shots Ten to count.
Target DP 12.
Scoring 5 and 4.
Timing Five exposures of six seconds over a period of two minutes.


PROCEDURE

1. Competitors are to be in the prone position with rifles loaded, made ready and safety catches applied.
2. Targets will be exposed for five exposures of six seconds.
3. Targets will be exposed randomly over a frontage of six feet.
4. Two shots are to be fired during each exposure.
5. On completion of the practice rifles must be inspected and cleared before leaving the firing point.
6. Spotting discs will then be shown for 25 seconds and the number and value of hits will be communicated to the firing point.


Practice 4 (Close Quarter Rapid)

Distance 100 yards.
Position Kneeling or squatting.
No. of shots Ten to count.
Target DP 12.
Scoring 5 and 4.
Timing 40 seconds.
