Well. I have been saving for a new AR for a couple of months. After the well documented disaster or a ruger 10/22 I purchased. I put in loads of overtime and managed to squirrel away just over a grand. I was thinking of ordering a new AR some time next month. However just when you think all is going well something appears out the blue to knock you down . The missus got to work to day to be told they lost a major engineering contract and due to this she is going to be one of many that are going to be made redundant. Looks like the AR is going to have to wait. I'm well gutted.

What a shitter
Sympathies to the Mrs.

Still, you could always buy the lower and add all the go-faster upper parts later

The plan is to see if she can get a new job asap. However there arnt that many company's needing diagnostic or engineering team managers in the UK any more. Well at least she knows the cash is there. If she gets a new job in the meantime happy days, if not I will just have to wait for a nice new AR

Dude.....gutted for you and your missus.

If you can make your way up to Diggle one day, I'd be happy to let you sample the deligts of an AR15......

I'll even bring the ammo.

Give me plenty of notice.......IM me of you want.

Look on the bright side, these things do tend to be temporary.....you'll be fit for action befire long I'm sure.

Been there and done that twice, it isn't fun for the little one either, but now mine are 8 & 11, and growing up to be fine strong kids, I'm more than glad that I didn't wring their necks back then.

Chris,

Sorry to hear about the bit of bad luck, thing's can only get better, keeping my fingers X'ed for you and your wife.

I don't mind staying awake to be with him, it's watching the little fella getting himself wound up because he's tired and in pain, You just wish there was something you could do to help em through it.

But you are right it's not fun, and it is pretty stressful.

I was also made redundant 2 years ago, I managed to find another job , but I wish your other half all the best in finding new employment. Its not what you know but who you know.....

Sorry to read about your wife's job. I have been there several times, and it's like a kick in the teeth when it happens, the feeling of rejection is gutting. On the bright side, I always found better jobs afterwards. I hope something turns up before too long.

i know this has nothing to do with the black gun,but the other half used boots natural teething powders for my little boy which worked great. the powders come in little wrap's of paper that you unfold an tip in the llittle ones mouth,it's very suspect though as it looks like you are giving your little one a wrap of speed or cocaine. i had a few strange looks from passengers in the departure lounge at allicante airport.have

Cheers guys,
I had save just over £1500 in total. I handed it over to the missus for the joint account (with tears in my eyes) and amazingly she gave me £450 back as she knew how gutted I was not being able to get an AR. Well I orderd myself a new GSG-5 to be going on with. Once she has a new job I will start saving for a nice new AR

Cheers Tony,
I cant wait for the GSG5 to arrive. I ordered the bog standard one. I already have a low profile rail for it in my box of bits and am going to use my Eotech on it. I must be very lucky today as a friend of mine just called me and I got talking about the GSG-5 . He has a retractable stock that will fit sat in his wardrobe he says I can have for free

Doesn't get better than that
