Just heard this on the Radio for the first time in years The KLF Get in there... |
![]() You old people listen to weird music... |
Sez the Aussie |
Stonkin Toon. Made myself half deaf listening to White Room album on my walkman many years ago..... |
One of my favourites here ... Icehouse still has a place in my MP3 collection.. |
|
Never hear of the KLF until today. Unique is all I can say. You still cant beat a bit of Metallica or Bruce though ONE Radio Nowhere
|
Wrong Bruce Metallica are the ghey and a bag'o'shite When the KLF got Tammy Wynette to agree to sing on Justified and Ancient, she said that she didn't have a clue what the lyrics were about. To this day, neither do I |
Oh...T'other Bruce......He's not bad either |
THIS is Bruce Dickinson. More cowbell ![]() www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvqB0uwLj0k |

A young girl started at the office this week (young enough be my grandaughter Fleetwood Mac fans she said and here's why I guessed 1976, seems like only yesterday |
Fleetwood Mac rock. Stevie Nicks is smoking hot. They were the first concert I went to at Wembley Stadium. |
I know, I think most guys of a certain had a thing for her. Just been watching her singing Gypsy on Youtube and remembering buying Mirage (on vinyl) and playing it to death. |
You were lucky, my (ex)wife draged me long the see Vital Signs in concert as she had a thing about the lead singer. We were the only two white people in a very large audience, a bit like this but not so many flags. Thought it wise to join in the chorus |
Funny you should say that. I do have tickets for Iorn maden in The Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy Paris next month |
The best band I have ever seen live is Rammstein (Feuer Frei is particularly awesome live)..... They have blown everybody else I've ever seen completely off the stage....and an audience packed with very tasty rock chicks to boot. And an all time classic list of live performers include, Iron Maiden Slayer (Reign In Blood Tour) AC/DC Queen (with and without Freddy) Saxon Metallica Gary Numan Stone Roses Happy Mondays Motorhead Angelic Upstarts Half Man Half Biscuit Joy Division New Model Army Motley Crue S.O.D. Boston and last by my no means least that spandex clad, fretboard tampering, chutney ferret Yngwie J Malmsteen who was supprisingly shrill and incabable of playing anything but five minute screeching guitar solos.....It was like listening to all the cats in the world fighting at once but with more hair. |
Can't disagree with either of those! Christine McVie still doesn't look too bad either! (Considering she was born in Cumbria in 1943!!! )youtube.com/watch?v=V9_aghiNDuM (mind you, it was filmed 11 years ago!) ETA Stevie Nicks was born in Phoenix Az as well, so that's another plus! |
Each to their own - I still rate the Who as just about the best band live and the Clash as very close second. Having spent my formative teenage years in the late sventies I saw some classics. The first gig I ever went to was at 14 to see the Damned supporting T Rex - my older brother took me as long I pormised not to be within 30 yards of him at any time... Then a long line of punk bands from 76 onwards - I still go occasionly to see bands and very occasionaly to Glasto - although the camping has always looked awful - stay on a farm and wander in and out - much better. Caught Kid Creole in Dublin 20ish years after I saw him first and it was still a good night. Ho hum, off to mow the lawn - how boring is that! |
| Damn! every time I dip into Youtube its another blast from the past. Stone the Crows, saw them support Taste at Brum Town Hall in the early 70's. Maggie Bell did the Taggart theme |
|
Actually this thread has nothing to do with any other bands or groups than the KLF. Although not a fan of House, Garage or even Shed The KLF were groundbreaking and totally original. They didn't have many tracks but what they had were ground-breaking and totally memorable They did some cracking stuff and their video's weren't half bad either |
...and they were certifiable nutjobs...Read all about it... |
