just outside London bridge station, browsing the site, and listening to early van halen on my new iPhone, well worth the money for the new toy! I can even type with my thick fingers!

Had a play with one last weekend, but it seemed well "locked" to O2... You couldn't Bluetooth music or movies to it?  Everything seemed geared up to getting you onto the web via the O2 portal...

With the patchy 3G service up here int North I have mine turned off on the N95 as it just puts more strain on the battery...

How do you find the mapping?

Had a look at one the other day. My contract is up for renewal and I was looking to upgrade.  Must admit it is a really nice piece of kit and has a cool operating interface.

I just couldn't bring myself to pay £280 and then £400 per year for a phone...and work won't get me one

They most certainly are well and truly locked to O2, the bluetooth is crap, and no 3G... But a fantastic bit of gadgetry!!

The mappings ok, the quality is very good. The gps location function works well in built up areas but suffers when you go rural, I guess because of the number of cells.

O2 is the only network officially at the moment but that may change apparently. There are a number of cracks for it on the internet but these preclude you from downloading any updates.

It plugs into itunes the same way the ipod works and it's pretty easy to use.

You don't pay any extra for the internet or email in the UK as it's all included in the price but don't even think about going abroad as the download rate is something like £7 per mb!

It does look good though

Iphone 2 is supposed to be released soon. I would wait a few months and see.

supposedly it will be 3g and new features, some people have said the camera is getting an overhaul.

Should be out in the US in june/july, whenever apples developers conference is
